SHOW YOUR BLACK BASSES!!!

My black Precision Bass with mapleneck:

That is one mighty fine bass:eek::bassist:
Where did you get it?

I bought her as a new, stock Geddy Lee jazz from my local music store in 2005. I traded the stock neck to Veganbass for his Moses graphite neck, had a buddy and my wife do the detailing and decal-ing of the headstock, threw some Hipshot ultralites and de-tuner on it and swapped out the neck pickup for a Dimarzio Model J (much more fat and round...the bridge pickup is stock and nasty as hell!!!!! (it's a Model J in the pics but I swapped the stock pickup back in)). I also threw in a parallel/series switch. You can read her story here. :D

Someday I'm going to build a lined fretless clone of her with all of the same hardware....

When this was new, the fretboard was also black (dyed or painted, I'm not sure which), but now it's worn off a bit :hmm:.

So at one point, it would have been even blacker , more like these ....

Still, I think it's black enough for this thread ;).

Yeah enough black! Maybe if you treat the fretboard with lemon oil it will get darker. Try it out if you didnt allready.

Also there are quite some people here which didnt read the first post, which said "all black" basses with rosewood or ebony fingerboards. I see quite some basses with maple fingerboards and other non black stuff...

But well...

I really like those all black rickenbackers, are they modded or were they really sold like that?
