Shuttle 9.0?

I've been trying to sneak the USB charger feature into an amp for years... I have one in a prototype that I used to power my analyzer's USB preamp for use as a preamp into a different analyzer.

Of course, now that it's out in the open, let's see who put it in their next amp

Does anyone know of a USB powered breathalyzer that could be used before you get in the car post-gig?

Man .. i have been asking for the USB charger in amps for at least 4 years..... It would be used by me all the time.. i bet everyone would like that.. I would pay a few extra dollars to have that feature for sure.. dont know if anyone has attempted it yet.. would be cool if it could also interface with the AUX in for practice playing too..

Why? What would you look for in a SM 9 that the SM 12 doesn't already have?

Not having any of the products in my hands yet, Just working off of expererance and thought.

But I think a SM 9 would fit my needs better. As I ponder between the two (S9 & SM12) for my needs, I like the extra tone controls of the SM6 & SM12 but I'm feeling that I would love the head room of the 9. vs the 600watts of the MAX 6 & 12.

I understand that the Max12 will get me there on amp b, if I want to bring more than one cab.

And that's my dilemma as I try to down size my rig but yet leave room to expand or adjust.

Just trying to predict my future needs...

I'm down sizing and I just bought a NEOX-212T, and looking for an AMP. Is the 9 going to be a good match with this cab.

I want to get an amp that will drive the cab to the 600watts rating and still have some headroom.

Will the cab hold up in this setup?

ps. I do understand the basic concepts of amps and speakers when it comes to speaker damage due to either clipping or pure over powered.

I think kjung had a pretty good post (around page 30 or so of this thread) that if you're running a single 4 ohm cab most of the time there's no compelling to get the 9.0 over the 6.0. I kind of agree. I'll confess a certain amount of GAS for a 9.0, but I can pull myself into reality and recognize that my Shuttle 6.0 does everything I need it to do.

I'm not saying "don't get the 9.0", but for the situation you've described, I don't think it's necessary. My Shuttle 6.0 into the NeoX 212T is louder than I need it to be. If you have the cash and you want the 9.0, get the 9.0.

I thank you all for your input, that's why I'm here. I hear nothing but great things about these products but I only get to buy one.

I know I need somewhere around 600/900 watts, and would love to have headroom as things do change. Not a big fan of multiple cabs but 2 8ohm/210 cabs does sound like a winner.

I have the 212 now and would love it if it is truly the cab of all cabs for me.

I have the cash now for any one of them. Just don't want to go to low or too high in power and then regret it later. as I have been using a QSC 1804 (900x2@4ohm) and its been over kill from day one and I have a 500watt practice combo that seems to almost works for my show needs but just not really there in headroom.

both amps are the exact same size and the 9.0 is only a few ounces more in weight..
I have both amps.. the 9.0 has a little more girth to it...
My main amp is still the Max12.. but the 9.0 into a 4 ohm load is about all i think i would need... even large venues i cant see needing more since there is PA and IEM support.

So like i was saying if you need between 600-900 as you listed above.. i would go with the 900 watts..... now if you said you needed 400 to 600 i would suggest the 6.0

How many ohms is that eden cab that you are gigging.. it looks like an eden from what i saw

I'm so glad that you posted that Email because Kjung and others ride me all the time saying that the only people that talk good about GB are product endorsers. And that i should not post positive stuff here because its slanted..

So Kudos to GB and thank you for posting.. Its not only endorsers that get great CS form a real nice company.

The cab used in the outdoor video is a Carvin BRX Neo 410@ 4ohms and 1200watts. Nice cab for the power, weight, and the $$.

It and the QSC amp are truly over kill for 98% of clubs I play at now. But it's shows just like that one where I worry a bit about dropping into a 600 watts rig (ie..just the 212) so I'm sure down the road I'll may pick up a couple of 8ohm 210's and do a vertical stack for that type of show but they are so rare for me anymore being in a hum-drum bar Cover band. :scowl:

IF that's really what KJung and others have said to you, I firmly disagree with them on this.

I think GB has proven time and again their products are quite good, and their CS is even better, despite whatever debates have taken place to date.

I currently only have a Shuttle 3.0 10T, but I like it a lot, and I've checked out a lot of their other stuff and also liked it a lot. Further, I'll probably be selling my combo, but it'll only be to replace it with another GB product (to be named at a later time).

I say post yer brainz out with the positive stuff. I can't imagine anyone having a valid complaint as long as it contains accurate accounts of your experiences, and as long as it doesn't include undeserved slams against competing products (those seem to be the two things that get posts in hot water around here... fabrications and flames).

Further, if someone is and endorsing artist, they're supposed to clearly identify that (as you do), so people have the opportunity to also take that fact into account when they read the posts... further making it perfectly fine to do so.

Bottom line, post up, don't clam up, and tell them to shut up. (but be nice about it)

While I do feel the endorsers go a bit overboard on their one sided posting sometime, this has NOTHING to do with my feelings about the gear, that I recommend regularly WHEN IT FITS THE PLAYERS TONE GOALS AND NEEDS with a strong IMO always.

I did find it hard to believe that was really your tone in anything you said... even in PMs I haven't seen, which is why I said "if". At least from my perspective, I've never seen you say anything that heavy handed.

I think you'll see that "us" endorsers really don't go overboard on this thing.

Is it the "end-all" of amps.....maybe not, but I can't foresee anything being really that significantly better.Except maybe the SA200
And it really does deliver the goods. It really does. The 9.0 that is!
