So Burger King is racist now too?

Just trying to help out since it seemed pretty obvious from your post in response to mine that you were a million miles from the point I was making.

Actually I understand and agree with the sentiment of the point you are making - its not fine to make fund of people based on their physical characteristics in any context. However, I was simply pointing out (in a humerous way - note the use of the similie face) that not all characteristics are the same, there are vary degrees of chocie involved from things that are a complete choice (being a neo-nazi) to things that you have no choice in whatsoever (your ethnic group) and that its not as simple as merely swapping words in and out of sentences to make a point. One's weight falls somewhere between the two points on the spectrum, but it is not, in my mind the same thing as one's ethnic group since no one is born fat (although they may have a genetic disposition towards it).

It would be just as potent to have said "I don't think its acceptable to make fund of people based on their weight" than try and turn fat into another "ism".

*fun

you don't need to "concern" yourself but hey do whatever you like.. just remember the old adage "you are what you eat"...

How dramatic. Even the thinnest people I know occasionally partake in things that are bad for them. One of my coworkers regularly runs marathons and has about 6% body fat, and he and I enjoy a hamburger and fries together every Tuesday. Moderation and common sense is key.

SassyS.....I wasn't trying to be rude. I'm sorry. The leading question in my post does look more like an attack, so not my best choice of words.

That's okay. My point was that some stereotypes are more hurtful than others. There are a lot of days where I look at myself in the mirror and feel like I'm not worth anything, and I'm sure that there are other black women who feel the same way. I guess I overreacted, because I thought that you were implying that my feelings/experiences were invalid, since everyone goes through things. I'm sorry for misinterpreting your intentions.

Im not trying to invalidate your point in any way, but there are a lot, and I mean A LOT, of women (and men as well) of all colors who feel exactly that same way.

I'm totally kidding, by the way. It's actually ALL women...
