LOL! I love threads like this..."Um, a couple people are selling their _____. That must mean they suck, huh?"

I think that there is NO BASS....NONE ...worth 10k if you are not at least making that money from the playing you put on the bass. I have a peavey Cirrus 5 string and i swear that from playing and hearing Fodera's i dont see 8g difference in quality. I have played concerts where othe bassist had foderas...and not one bit difference in qualit of tone/sound etc...
I have played a Fodera before, but IMO just like all other boutique basses I am not sure that they are worth extra scratch. With that being said, if you raise the four grand or so to buy one why would you want to turn around and sell it unless you are really hard up for the cash?
Jason, can you hint at what this new, even cheaper entry fodera is? Based on the old NYC line or what?
You never know, it might be a domestic strategy. lol Seriously. Guy goes out and drops $9K on a Fodera. Wife gets pissed. So he puts it up for sale, says to his wife "Here Martha look I put it up for sale but no one can afford it in this economy". And he gets to keep the bass, while pretending to try to sell it.

A baby born today, will cost 300,000 dollars to put through college. My kids have six and ten years, respective to their ages, before they get there. Ten grand in a 529 savings plan is more like twenty or more grand, if you factor in tax benefits. Same can be said about Roth IRA. Much better investment.
we probably wish that our prices could be lower ...
Yes, they have had a backlog since Wham was a popular act.
Sold my Alembic last year when I needed a down payment for a car... I can play one of my cheaper basses at a gig, need a car to work.
Dear Sean --
Thanks for the kind words. You raise a a very fair question and not one that is simple to answer...let me start by saying that......................
Kindest regards,
Jason
