Indeed, although let's not forget that Bose were producing high performance (for the time) 8 x 4½" in the '70s, so the idea of multiple small drivers is far from novel.

In the early '80s I had the pleasure of playing in a few venues that had modest Bose 800 systems as permanent installations. The results were impressive, although the backline bass amp still had to do a bit of heavy lifting to really carry the room.

I'm sure some modern drivers combined with good cab design could create some real volume and power handling with good low-end extension. On paper at least, 8 of these could approach 1000W for just under 16lbs and be no more than a couple of feet tall. Combined with ultralight composite-based enclosures who knows what might be possible:

That's it. I was thinking at page 1 that is was going to be a 5" 80w combo. This Faital driver makes me 98% sure that's it.

Seriously, to me, there's a point of diminishing returns for lightweight cabs. Going from 60 pounds to 30 pounds is revolutionary. Going from 30 pounds to 25 pounds is kind of....... meh. You shaved a few more. So what?

If a cab is TOO light it will literally move when playing. I had an AccuGroove that did that.

And that is one of the things I used to see "occasionally" with my CMD121P (especially on concrete floors...but I now use a floor pad that has taken care of that problem. And, since I have began using the NY121 Extension, no problem whatsoever.

Their prices have been pretty stable for a while and you can often hit a SALE and save some significant $$$. They currently have the new LittleMark IV on SALE for $449 at M.F. That's a lot of amp for that price!

That makes me think of the wheels of the 1987 Porshe 959.

I have seen a couple of Porsche 959s on the road, years ago. The first one I ever saw was cut in half (more-or-less) longitudinally at the L. A. Auto Show when the car was first introduced. I even have black & white transparencies I made of it (Panatomic-X reversal kit).

The significance of the "R" is that it is the middle letter in Marco's name.
