I had a hardware issue with my HX Effects; Couldn't do a firmware up grade past 2.7.0 on it. New one should be here any day.

I was planning on selling it and going back to a pedal setup. Now I might rethink that and see how it plays with my C4.

If you can, I would hold off. At least till I get my HUB, aftershock and get it all dialed on and hooked up via midi with my HX. I mean, don’t let me hold you’re plans cause of me. Just sayin though ;)

Sucks about your HX bein messed up. I’d update the new to 2.80 and see how you like. I love mine so I may be biased. But I’m a helix believer. Drank the koolaid and I’m totally trippin on it. Still. After what, 2 years? I’ve had it since it’s release. I don’t use it for everything. But what I do use it for, I really like it. And I’m exited about trying hooking the C4, aftershock and HUB up to it and control them via midi. So we’ll see. I don’t know a damn thing about midi. But again, excited to be finally trying some things with it’s capabilities.

Ok, so you can't add the C4 currently to a scene but you can change presets....fun!

So, I had to update the C4 first, and then once connected to the HUB via Desktop, I can see the C4. BUT, you still can't add the C4 to a scene (it crashed everytime I tried). No matter, I can use the ES-8 to change presets on the C4. Which means now I have to organize my preset list so I know what's in there. I downloaded so many of the sounds in the Community library without abandon

Actually I don't think the hub can even read/display the C4s settings. It didn't for me, I had to use a USB cable to program mine with the desktop editor.
To be clear, the HUB will pass MIDI CC messages through from a midi controller to the C4, but otherwise cannot interact with the C4 as it relates to scenes, desktop editor, MIDI PC messages, etc., like all of the other 1series pedals do. As SA has previously mentioned, this limitation is the HUB, not the C4. SA is supposedly going to update the HUB firmware (in the hopefully not too distant future) to support scenes, however, I do not believe that they have confirmed if such an update will allow the C4 to also be edited in the desktop editor through the HUB as well. I assume this will be the case, but it is a good question to ask. Perhaps @rsmith601 can confirm...

Yep! 100% my experience thus far. Hub for midi control, USB for programming.

We are working to get Spectrum out the door at the moment, and cleaning up some small C4 items. No update on the Hub firmware just yet.

To be super-extra clear, I won’t be able to drop a C4 on my board with all the other SA stuff (Ventris, Nemesis, Aftershock, Manta) and jump to another scene and the C4 react? Sorry for rehashing this, but I will need my future C4 to be changing more than anything since I plan on using it mostly as a pitch shifter for looping. I’ll probably wait until it acts just like the other One series pedals before purchasing, if so. Don’t wanna program the board twice!!

C4 currently needs it's own CC command for preset changes. As long as your MIDI controller is capable of sending more than 1 message at a time, it's just a matter of programming. You could add the relevant CC commands to your MIDI programs. Then, once the C4 can be folded into your other Hub scenes, you just go back and delete the extraneous stuff.

Not sure if that's worth while or not for you, but it's not real clear when the C4 will get Hub integration beyond simple CC stuff. So you could be waiting a while...
