Yes, this is the case. For some the Hub is awesome, especially if you have multiple SA pedals. For those who have 1 or 2 pedals and only want MIDI, this will be a really nice option.

I'm new to midi, guys, so for this sort of thing, what would be the advantage of the "One Series Dongle" over using something like the Midi Box 4 with Neuro Cables?
I just re-read the part of being self powered, and that's one advantage, for sure.

I guess the idea is that you'd have something different managing "scenes". Especially if you aren't using the scenes feature of the Hub. I use a DMC.micro to manage different PC scenes and don't really use the scenes feature of my Hub. Right now it's just a slightly more expensive (and smaller) MidiBox4.

It’s an alternative to running MIDI over USB. You’d be able to hook up via standard 5-pin MIDI ports to something like the Soleman or Morningstar stuff. Probably more of use for the later SA pedals which have onboard presets (the older pedals have MIDI CCs but only have access to MIDI presets using the Hub’s memory slots).

The Hub support up to 5 pedals. One button scene saving. One expression pedal input with a 1/4 jack to control all 5 pedals. It sort of does it all, BUT no PC messages sent to pedals.

The adapter is for one pedal. It will send PC messages to pedals. CC messages too, obviously. It really is a clean way of adding MIDI to ALL the One Series pedals (EQ2, Nemesis, Ventris, Collider too). But, you do give up the Control Port.

This sounds great. I have nothing against the Neuro Hub, it works great for many situations. But being able to add full MIDI to a One Series, and doing it without taking over the USB port, is great. I look forward to buying a few of these for the times I don't have a well planned out setup with the Hub.

I haven’t really talked much with Jesse on this, but I’m assuming the adapter does not add preset access to the older 6 preset pedals. So not sure that this would be a solution for that for users hoping to get midi support for those presets. Just to be clear.

You can use PCs to recall presets on the older pedals, but there are only 6 presets.

This has been implemented? Last time I knew it was just an idea being bandied about.

Count me in! Just what I need for my C4 + Morningstar combo. I’m not a big fan of the Neuro Hub for just a single SA pedal

Thought you all would be interested that we are working on a simple and small MIDI adapter for all One Series pedals. It's self powered and really more of a dongle than a box. Not sure on the timing just yet.

Ok, so if the adapter does support preset recall on the small box units, then I’m guessing Jesse took what Matthew from Disaster area came up with for the neuro cable with one series and his multi jack on the DMCs. (Essentially Matthew made the dmc into a mini hub that supports the onboard presets for the small box pedals, as well as using the neuro cable into the control input of the one series and multi jack of the dmc set to midi Ring).

if the adapter does support this same setup, then yes, midi can be used to access the internal presets on the pre C4 pedals. I guess I need to confirm with Jesse then just to be sure. As it’s likely that DA used sysex code to do this, and not straight PC messages.

I used one for a minute and moved to the NeuroHub. But I basically use the Hub like the Box: just a coms channel for PC commands. I don’t really use the scene saving in the Hub.
But you can send midi over the Neuro cables with the Box. Midi cable to Box, neuro cables out to the SA boxes.
I use the dmc.micro PRO to send PC changes. For some SA pedals that’s fine, but for aftershock and others only really allows for on/off.
