I never have any noise issues with my pedal board until I go over to a certain guitar players house, we found after several years that he has an ancient appliance in his house that infects the entire wiring of the newish house, once we put that appliance on an isolator the noise we had all been battling for several years disappeared. He had spent thousands on pedalboard power supplies, Isobars and everything else.

quick q....

recently noticed that the circular shiny metal base of the 3 way switch, on UW, is loose/moves when switch is flicked. Is this normal ? cant recall if it was always like that or not.

If you focus on a single band (1-band (no Split)) in the Band Splitting options. Stick to the single distortion engine (ie no morphing yet) and choose which Distortion Type. Opt for 1 Basic Distortion, you prtty much have a tube amp type of patch. Tweek the 8 band graphic to taste and choose some compression or not.

I matched my fav Aftershock Bass Overdrive patch to my Ultrawave, it's on the Community hub called "GMC - Bass Overdrive". My patch has separate Ch1 & Ch2 variants which you can fade between using the Balance control (mapped to the Sustain knob). Ch2 is basically a heavier version with Compression, so it sounds like 2 stacked Tube engines from my Aftershock. It's my most used bass dirt and my usual goto.
If you look up my "GMC OD / Muff / Gated Fuzz" patch, it's an Overdrive, morphed with a Big Muff options (Using the Sustain knob to morph) and CH2 has a diode gated fuzz (Titan II / Woolley mammoth type of sound) that is faded in using the Treble knob (mapped to Balance). Super versatile and really sweet for dialling a specific dirt sound.

I've created a "GMC You're D II" which is quite close to the three leaf Audio pedal. It produces the tones and the sounds, although it dials in differently. But it's all there if you play with it. My copy of this uses a remote expression to dial in the Balance between the "33 Octave Fold 1" and the "5 Diode (positive only) type. Channel 1 needs a wet / dry mix (sustain) to tame down some of the crazy-ness and bring it into the target zone. The Ultrawave can get way more crazy than the 3 leaf Audio version. Unlike the Aftershock, the Ultrwave doesn't have any range limits on the control knobs.
A very similar patch is my "GMC B:assmaster & Gated Muff" Patch. I like this one a lot and I use it more than my You're DII patch. Morph is mapped to Sustain and it morphs between a gated Big Muff and a Gated Fuzz. The Treble control fades in Ch2 (Balance) which brings in the B:assMaster sound. This patch covers a lot of ground and I get a lot of BEAD tones from this. I find it more intuitive to start in familiar dirt territory (Muff and Gated Fuzz) and fade in the crazy B:assmaster tones to taste.

So yes the Ultrawave can do everything the Aftershock can and a lot more, however you will need to dial it if it's not already on the Neuro community.

I WAS on the fence, now I think I might do it. I'd still keep the Aftershock on the board since I can basically turn it into an LA Lady or a Kingmaker with the right presets for when I play guitar.

I was trying pretty hard to diversify my board up but I keep coming back to source audio pedals.

The hole for this piece of hardware is cut a little wider on the housing than the switch so there's a little wiggle room, if it was too tight, it'd face the possibility of the switch snapping off easily; the slightly-too-large hole allows for it to have a little "give" if pressure is applied to it. This bit of "give" room allows for some diffusion of energy when the switch is met with force, which can increase its chances of surviving some brutal kick or other instance of force. It's more durable than it looks

One could leave the compressor on as "PostGain" as a Potential Hard Limiter and then just swap out distortion engines with presets. I'm thinking that as long as the compressor settings are the same throughout the presets including one preset with the distortion off that this could be a "dual-use" for the pedal in my chain.

For Reference, here is where I've found myself needing my compressor as sort of a catch for volume spikes between some distortion and C4/Spectrum peaks. Recently, I've had the time to do some board adjustments and rewiring so it got me thinking about a few things to adjust. For now, Spectrum does a slight envelope when im trying to do a slight synth sound using the chorus and a low gain fuzz preset I have on my Aftershock. The C4 wears alot of hats, an Octave, Synth (for Moog stuff) and a few Spectrum Presets when I want my Envelope PreGain.

(Yes, I put some SA pedals under the top rack to hide my Neuro Addiction)

Yes you can easily do that, just split the two channels and duplicate the patch on the 2nd channel + add the compressor. Then map one of the knobs to the "Balance" option and that allows you to fade between them.

New Ultrawave patch uploaded! Its called "M+B Foldzonegateclip" by gustobass.. best I could do with the name, lol.. As it uploads its a got a light envelope on the LFO with a synthy but heavy distortion. Crank the Mix for more LFO rate. Treb knob controls the Envelope to Rate. Mono-stereo-mono routing, Channel 2 is clean. I designed this specifically with the M+B in series pickup setting on my Dingwall NG3 (onboard pre vol rolled back about 5-10%) so I really have no idea what it will sound like with other basses or pickup settings.

I also run this patch into my "racks" Atlas setting I uploaded - if you really wanna cop my sound. i.e. UW>Atlas>amp. Fingerstyle

Try it out! If you have a Dingwall NG3, I want your opinion! This is my gift to you..

One final question: what exactly separates the UW Bass and the UW guitar? From what I can tell on the Neuro App they should be fairly interchangeable. I am assuming you could load UW guitar presets on the Bass and visa versa by finding the corresponding EQ (i.e 10 Band Guitar for 10 Band Bass).
Should I have thought about what color I prefer vs if the Pedal is marketed for Bass or Guitar?

GAS and my Neuro Addiction has gotten the better of me. Collider on its way now to possibly knock the Red Panda Context 2 out of its Collider/Ventris Sized hole.

I like the Context2 but if the Collider's Reverb "Freeze" is as good as I want it to be then bye bye panda. Red Panda made a valiant attempt at a midi editor on their website. Unfortunately, making presets is kind of clunky on it compared to SA pedals so i'm hoping the Collider can cure a few woes and like the rest of the SA pedals in my chain serve a dual purpose.

I've read a few gripes about some lag due to the dual DSP, have you noticed this at all? I cant really foresee it being an issue since the way I use my effects I don't think a ms of delay or two engaging presets will snag me up at all.

You will always find some folkes who are just piccy. I really like my Collider. Sure if you turn the engine dial there's a slight delay as the DSP unloads one engine and selects another, but that's how it works. It really is a top drawer delay pedal AND a top drawer reverb pedal all in one small unit.

Not sure, if it does it would only be 3.3v I know we’ve talked internally about allowing for phantom power, but this is really first new product since those discussions to where we could technically make the change, but given that it’s being powered by the host device, and not from the midi spec, I’m thinking not, especially given the form factor of the adapter probably only allows for the components needed for midi control of the small one series pedals.

Will the new adapter for connecting a single SA pedal have a midi 5-pin in, or would I need to get a midi 5-pin to 3.5 TRS (or TRRS?) to connect the 5-pin midi out on the Boss MS3 first to the adapter, and then use 3.5 TRS (or TRRS) to the C4?

I think we’re including a trs 1/8” to 5 pin female cable, so that you can use any kind or length of midi cable from that to your controlling device.
