Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but, I believe that you need the NeuroHub (Soleman) to communicate with the C4 and would be able to do the storage of presets you are asking about.
exactly - coincidentally currently I have set of quatschmacher presets somewhere in the twenties

I am currently working up banks in panel mode with my Soleman. Each each panel can have 4 specific sounds assigned to each switch. I have one panel which is labeled Utility with OD, Chorus, Comp, and a synth patch. I think it's up to 64 panels.
Are you also using the NeuroHub with the Soleman OR are you connected with the SA Midi connection OR are you using something else with the Soleman?
Soleman Neuro hub, and USB direct to the Ultrawave as the Hub doesn't allow editing for it. I run dual midi cables in and out between the hub and Soleman. That way scene names show up on the Soleman when recalled from the Hub.

I'm aware of that as I have both. The question was could you store banks of sounds using the soleman) hub instead of running them in series via preset mode.
If you have the NeuroHub and Soleman then you should have max flex in using all features even if only having the C4, right?
Running them in series via preset mode? Just a little more clarification on that. Not sure what your trying to achieve. I'm no expert but trying to help.
Just seems like people are grouping types of presets in preset mode via the preset list exp: filters 1-20, synth 21-30 etc. I was asking if you can create banks of sounds. Someone was mentioning doing something like that in panel mode, which I'm still trying to wrap my head around.
Oh I see now. You can move presets wherever you want via the editor, and group them however you like. Panel mode is cool that you can trigger scenes on each of the four Soleman buttons. I use a mini disaster area dual switch to cycle through Panels. I run the Hub editor and the Soleman editor at the same time to achieve the presets I want. It took me some reading reading and asking questions to wrap my head around it.

I am new to synth and do not even know what "MIDI" means. Furthermore i must admit that i have not read all of the 14391 previous posts in this tread. I hope this is the right place to post and that i am not out of line.
I am really ambivalent on pulling the trigger on this system. It kind of seams outdated already. Mini USB? MiniDisk seamed like a good idea i 1995. ten years later; not so much, while people are still buying vinyl.
The app for the C4 seams user friendly and all, but say you accidentally factory resett your unit during a live setting... "Hey guys! Just wait four hours while i load the settings of my pedal board,"
I guess i want someone to say: "Relax, all your worries are unfounded and based on bias. This system here is just what you need"

This is a great system, sounds amazing and I'm not personally aware of a better synth for Bass for the money or size. Community support is second to none. That DMC is what I'm doing with the C4.

You can make a backup file of all your presets and global settings. You’ll need a computer with the file on it to restore to your pedal though.
I've been a collider owner for just over a week now and am absolutely loving it. It only took minutes to find and save very usable sounds to use in a cover band gig.
Today I saved a number of additional presets directly onto the collider and assigned the functions of "preset increment" and "preset decrement" to my soleman in panel mode. The scrolling works as expected, however it only goes through the 8 (extended mode) presets that are accessible from the pedal itself and then loops back to the beginning. Is there a way to scroll through more than those 8 presets as is possible on the C4 for example?

I do exactly this. But recall presets using an MC6 so it more for organising them.
The C4 is really excellent for a broad range of sounds. If you're new to synth, its worth doing background reading on synth parameters generally, as well as the pedal. I used to get muddled with filters and envelopes.
The only time I accidently did a factory reset was when using the desktop software and updating. As said, it's important to do regular backups.
Im also considering a DMC micro and midi is relatively new to me. Im daunted with the sheer amount of messages in this thread re people's issues with midi. BUT, the community and SA tech support are brilliant, so its a reflection of how everyone is here to help out.
I tend to glaze over with a lot of the midi vid explainer content. I just want a straightforward unit to scroll through presets hands free. The DMC micro has a lot of extra capability that I cant see myself needing. But it will slot into my pedal board neatly.
Consider getting the SA expression pedal. Can be assigned to huge number of parameters, including dry/wet mix, so can 'turn on/off' the C4 effect live etc
Im also waiting for the update to the neuro app. Its glitched on me a few times when needed in live band set up - v frustrating when its worked well at home. I hope the new app will be more reliable, as I regard it as potentially v useful.
So be reassured but also mindful that the C4 is technical and requires time & effort. If you enjoy tweaking and exploring, its hugely rewarding.
One thing I said to myself after the 'honeymoon period' of trying out 100s of variable wacky presets, was to be ruthless and only store presets that sounded reallly great and consistent on my bass & set up. I had too many 'might be useful one day' ones clogging up my library. Less has proved to be more. Also classifying types of presets in groups - pads, filters, octaves, etc makes life easier to store & locate what I need.
Synth effects will also have a bearing on playing technique. You adjust your finger work accordingly for clean sound. But also the natural envelope of plucking can be harnessed for extra interesting qualities of sound. This for me, was a eye/brain opener.
Go for it! Your (bass) life will never be the same ha ha!
