I have both and like the way Neuro works on Aftershock for tailoring sounds, so far I have about 2 dozen for guitar and bass. I have not found the Ultrawave so easy to recreate popular models but GMC's approximations are very good. I use the Ultrawave for more exotic sounds as well as the huge potential for compression, EQ and clean sounds.

This note was mentioned on my "SA Mod Squad" thread. But it seems like it belongs in the SA megathread as well.

In one of the SA explainer videos (One Series Pedals: A Grand Overview) Jeff states that the three mod pedals, Mercury, Lunar, and Gemini, "are essentially all the same pedal, just with a different paint job".

This is true but for one important difference. The knob assignments are different for each pedal. And you cannot change them in the Neuro editor. I chose the Gemini because I wanted the MIX and TONE controls.

I wish SA would do an update for the pedals to allow those lower two knobs to be reassigned. I'd also like to see a triangle wave added to the shapes, but I won't hold my breath on that one.

Agreed on these points. I know this seem simple, but changes to firmware messes with everything these days: testing programs, all 4 editor/app platforms, user guides, etc.

Yea, I understand nothing is simple, and you have quite a few products to manage.

Being able to change the knob reassignments for the Mod Squad makes quite a bit of sense because it is a logical change to make the 3 mod pedals truly interchangeable, it is consistent with other One Series pedals (like the Dirty Trinity, etc.), and with mod fx, being given the choice of parameters for realtime control is super useful.

With all LFO-based modulations (chorus, flanger, phasor, vibe, trem, etc.) the LFO wave shape makes such a huge difference in the feel of the effect. I especially notice this with tremolos-- it's the difference between yum and yuck, for me. The Mod Squad has the env trig thing which is great! It has gradients between sine and square, also great. The addition of a triangle wave, and more control over the LFO shape would be a good thing, but I get why such a change is not practical. That ship has sailed.

Is there a plan for a more robust “all in one” type platform for the future? Something for those of us not afraid of using tech to get set up?

mid love a multi-effect platform where I can load all my pedals and then set presets not just for the effect settings, but complete scenes with the ability to reorder things. Adding a couple effect loops would be a nice touch for us ampless users who want our profilers inserted, or the occasional analog effect in the chain.

I have almost all the series one pedals now, so I’m not in a big hurry. Just curious if that’s in the future.

Also if you guys get into AI profiling, it could be an awesome single unit setup for ampless gigs with the right routing and outputs.

A big multi effects unit is not on our road map.

I run several of my SA pedals in loops of my Morningstar ML10X. I even give the Spectrum and C4 a second loop each so I can insert anything into their own internal loops.

I have 2 of them. :)

Im not complaining. Just curious about the roadmap. With things like iRig, and phones and tablets that are now more powerful than laptops and desktops were not long ago, it seems like a small powerful platform might be in the future. I’m just hoping as things shift, SA is there as their quality is top notch.

Yup. I have the Morningstar ML10x as well, and do the same thing. It’s pretty great.

I use a single pedalboard for both guitar and bass, and it’s over kill by any standards, but I’m just a hobbyist now, my touring days are long over. So the size of my rig isn’t my biggest concern.

We are giving this great thought and attention. Keep an eye out for Neuro 3.0.

It has cost us more R&D$ than 1.0 + 2.0. Its all the obvious improvements and so much more.

Its not about balking or being lazy. Its about keeping track of thousands of little details, and that is very difficult. Its 11PM on a Friday night and I am worried about what is not perfect.
