Very cool sounding pedals. I only wish it had top jacks, though with all that it can do I'm considering the purchase. $350 seems a bit steep though

All SA One Series pedals have side jacks. The older ones had top mount.

For everything this does, $350 isn’t crazy. It’s also a custom design compared to the other small One Series pedals (as was EQ2) so there’s extra costs there.

I was hoping this signified a new enclosure platform for all future pedals. Seriously, the Artifakt looks awesome, but the improvements to the enclosure compared to the "one series" is just as cool. USB C is long overdue, and switching to smaller MIDI jacks is a huge benefit to complex pedalboard builds. Then you've got the two footswitches, the six knobs, the two toggle switches. It's great!

And yeah, the price is a bit spendy. But for what it is and what you're getting with the Neuro tech and app, it's not bad at all.

I will say nothing further on this...

I wont pass on a stereo pedal that already has it's top panel full of other ports. I'm not so lenient with simpler pedals. When I use one of these on my desk it is so much cleaner to have all cables coming out of the top. Mounted on a pedalboard is less of an issue.

Once again Source Audio collective mind have broken more barriers on what a simple pedal can offer to sound creators. While as a bass player the ArtifaktArtifakt Lo-fi Elements pedal may have limited appeal but as a synthesist and studio mixer it offer a lot of serious creation tools in a small and affordable package with all the power and advantages that only Source Audio offers. .

Think what you will, having only pedals with top-jacks makes the board look sooooo much cleaner and space efficient. I do have a few side jack guys on there, but 2 are the mini size enclosures, one is a wah pedal and one is a chorus pedal that I haven't been able to find a top-jacks replacement for. This pedal seems like it has some interesting chorusy sounds on top of all the glitchy stuff, so it may take the place of my beloved Anadime Bass Chorus...

As I have probably said elsewhere, this pedal has replaced my Mutron Microtron IV (I sold it a couple of months ago). Embarrassingly, I’m actually not really into lo-fi glitchy stuff but I LOVE this pedal. It does plenty of the more “conventional” stuff well.

Here’s a recording I made of Artifakt and my MuTron side by side. I challenge anyone to be able to guess which is which (and this clip was made before I revised the preset to more closely match the EQ (as that wasn’t working properly when I first made the patch)):

I can appreciate that input for sure, the ladder filter certainly peaked my interest. Plus lo-fi reverb is my new favorite effect for bass and other sounz. I just recently got a JPTR FX Jive and I am sure the Artifakt offers more possibilities there too.

I expect that just like the C4 and Ultrawave the Artifakt will offer new possibilities as I navigate the UI and potential for sounz.

Gotta be honest, your demo clips seem to sell it to me better than the "official" demo videos, and I don't know if that's because you've had X more time with it or because it's on a proper instrument, or if it isn't a blend thereof. Either way, it sounds cool. It's like Beck in a box.

Oh, and the improved Microtron patch is included as number 16 of the factory patches for everyone to enjoy. (There was a slight technical error with the patch file which means the resonance was saved at a slightly lower value than what I programmed it as. I’ve sent the corrected version and the relevant backup file will be amended so that reinstalling the factory patch backup will correct it. Alternatively you can just turn the resonance up using the vary knob or use Neuro to change the Q value from 191 to 217 and re-save.)

I thought that the 7 engines limited what the pedal could do in each position. And then I got confused looking in the manual as the factory presets didn't have an engine associated with them. Then I looked at the Neuro editor, and realised that there are a lot more combinations of effects than what the 7 engines give.

This is a complete platform to create all kinds of lo-fi effects.

Thanks, with something this deep and complex it might take a while for people to hear something that appeals to them. For me, as soon as I played around with the filter on this for a few minutes, I knew I was going to love it. I’d suggest folks listen to as many demos of this as they can if they are on the fence as inevitably different players will wrest different things out of this beast. Having said that, it’s worth repeating that there are many more possibilities in this pedal than are showcased by the 7 base preset templates. (And those are user-replaceable so you can roll your own starting points.)

(If this had had a couple of phasers on it, I could easily have ditched another couple of pedals.)

The 7 positions of the encoder are similar to the toggle switch on the other one series pedals; they are (very carefully crafted) presets which provide jumping off points to create your own and are themselves fully replaceable if desired.

Come on you guys. It's not mod, pitch, or IR.

It's the Noisefloor tape hiss and 60 cycle hum emulator.

It may not the pedal we need, but it's the one we deserve.

I just hunted around for this post as I had to bite my tongue hard when I read it the other day. Not only does it do US 60 cycle hum but also UK 50 cycle hum!

Despite being tongue-in-cheek, how right you actually were!

I did make some C4 patches using my Microtron but they never sounded as good as this one.
