I'm seriously thinking about buying this one... I wanted to buy Source Audio Orbital Modulator, but Utility Modulator seems like a better option because I like simplicity in pedals; same 3 controls for 4 effects!

Yes, it's digital - but the technology is good enough now, I don't think this really matters. And I'm an analog junkie.

I use the 5th Gear on pretty much EVERYTHING now 
How wet do the chorus and flanger get on the utility knife? The wetter the better for me, and it's been hard to tell from the YT clips I've seen so far.
Sorta. The variable waveform is a nice touch on those. The real key is the LFO has to be able to go down low. Most vibratos for guitar are still too fast on the lowest setting to be ideal (IMO) for bass.
The Endangered Audio Research Spectravibe is great with bass. Only two wave forms, saw and triangle, but it gets really slow and is infinitely adjustable.
