OMG! that thing is amazing. that top compares with the NS2s I've seen too! I love the no inlays look of the fretboard. Which is why I might move my Euro4.... man now I'm gonna have to save up to order a EuroLX AHHH!!! Congrats brotha!!! as Jeff would say...

Thank you Donny! I'm with you about loving the TonePump..I played this bass for over 3 hours this evening and was so amazed at the tonal variations that I could get off this Bass and the ability to do the 18v easy mod is even more of a plus. Just a little turn goes a long way.

Hey guys,

It's been a long time since I've logged onto TB. I'm looking into maybe getting a 9v Haz circuit as a plan B to getting an NS-2.
I'm looking at the Spector online store and can only find the 18v circuits available.

Does anyone know if it's because the 9 volt circuits are back-ordered, or are they not available? Would I be able to do some crafty soldering to the 18 volt circuit to rewire it as 9?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give.

I appreciate all the feedback, and that is duel I would die to see (pun intended!) Definitely given me plenty to think about, first step will obviously be to get the bass and do some serious playing with it. I tend to run a pretty simple signal chain, EHX Muff PI (usually set for volume boost only to saturate the pre-amp tubes on the VBA, EBS Flanger/Chorus, Morley Wah (gotta love Cliff), volume at 2-3 Bass at 5, Mid's at 9, treble at 5 , contour select 3, bright and deep switches usually off, and gain at 6-9 depending on how loud I get to play (i.e. is the wife home).

Will try and post some samples of playing after I get used to the bass.

This was covered a couple of pages back.
The US 18v is not the same as the US9V. There are some nice sound samples a couple of pages back to compare.

The US9V is not for sale right now because they are hand wired and production can barely keep up with what they need for new US-made basses. They don't have any extras to sell as parts.

The TonePump samples sound very close to the US9V to my ear. IMHO the time and money needed to upgrade is not justified by the tiny difference in sound.

That being said, it's the sexiest Spector I've seen, I swear. No-inlays FB looks sick with this wood top. Serious GAS....even after 3 NS-2s....

Well my Spalted Wimbish showed up today (a day early) and I am at a loss for words about how awesome this Euro is!
I love the grain and flame that is on this Spalted top. The set up was great out of the case and a very nice weight...Not heavy and not light..Just right at 8lbs This bass was definitely worth the wait and I am a true Spector convert now
I started researching Spector last year with the one Bass to rule them all mindset. I was originally going to get a Forte but I have only played slim neck profiles since I started playing Bass in the 80's. I played a friends NS2 back in the 80's and remember saying: This Bass is Bitchen man!.....but...The neck is to fat for my hands Fast forward to last year and I got a chance to try out a Euro Wimbish and I was hooked. Spector tone, great combo of woods and a slim fast neck. Since I liked the look of the Forte's plain fretboard and matte finish but loved the neck on the Wimbish, I decided to create my version of a Forte/Wimbish.

A special thanks to Todd for making this 25 + year journey happen for me

I don't think that was my bass you saw. I got it directly from Spector. PJ said it was being finished up. I'm really surprised as to how far apart the numbers are for the X's. even though mine is 3 numbers away, it's dated 3/11/11. I'm thinking that they were probably dropped the electronics in about the same time though.

My bad, I thought I was responding to Mournblade's post (#609 in Spector part#56 thread) regarding his recent acquisition waiting to be delivered. Dang, this thread moves faster than that delivery guy on the Jimmy John's commercial! Lots of Forte-Xs as of late in here, I notice. Was it you that has the P/J config on yours?

This cab pushes a ton of air...And it looks cool if you ever decide to paint the grills black

That cab looks BOSS! I'd love to hear the air being pushed thru those 412's. I have really come to like 12's lately.

Brad, its a Rosewood fb but if I had the chance to get Ebony I would have chosen that for sure
