Quick help! I'm at guitar center... they just brought out a Spector 4 someone traded. Can we try and identify this?

Neck through. Control cavity cover is mounted on top of the body (not flush). Tuners say made in germany. No serial number on the headstock....

I can post more pics if it would help.

Check for a serial number on the black plastic cover starting with NS

It plays nice. But I was really hoping I found a mismarked gem!

It feels like an upgrade from my 06 legend custom... but not for $800!

Would this have been a Czech or Asian import... if it is a ns2a?

Would be a great bass if it was only $300.00 cheaper. Looks to be in great shape. Do you know anything about the electronics?

EMG pickups. They look way too new to be from the 80's... heres a shot.

pretty sure those were the way the logo was for older emg's

NS2a basses had been built in Korea during the Kramer era starting in 1987 and the early basses had no serial number but later in that year it moved to the back plastic cover, the Czech basses have serial numbers on back of headstock.

It looks like this might be a NS2a with a pick-up change.

that's a good thing. just too bad it's overpriced. it'll stay for a while and then they'll cut the price down.

Have them take the cover off so we can see what type of electronics it has.

That matte black Rebop 4MM that JPS has on his FB page is driving me CRAZY!!!
My NS-4 will be Spector #3 in my stable (when it's done in August).
I absolutely do not need or want a 4th, but I'm gonna hafta take a hard look at my NS4CR and make a decision on whether or not a Rebop would make me happier.

Is the Rebop the only Spector with a MM pickup in it, or can you get it in other models?

Exactly. Well, now I feel really good about walking away. Somebody is going to get taken advantage of if they don't do their due diligence and ask to see inside the cavity.

Yeah, In great shape with very little fret wear. I would say $400 and then add a Aggie or TP. Looks to have newer pickups so you could pretty much break even if you decided to move it later on.

There are def options on the USA side. Both in bolt on models (existing) and some neck thru models that are being made (see JPS posting awhile back, and Carlton has a NS-5XL mm on order).

Had one in natural two years ago and it was a band favorite and I really liked it but I'm hooked on anything neck thru now

I'm having a NS-4 built right now. After that, I will not be in any position to buy another US Spector. Grrrrrrr!
