Long live the NS-2C! Still dont have a pic of my black one with the rest of the family, but man that blue one is calling my name! I have NEVER seen a blue NS-2C...Wow...of course it could be an NS-2B....either way, killing me.

Very cool, you do need the blue one for your collection!

Yeah, I can definitely do that. Glad the consensus is that the problem should be easily-solved. A little pissed that such an expensive-ass bass has a dead spot. The setup is insane, though. It plays like melted butter!

I had about the same panic when I detected a "dead-spot" on my NS-2 E string at 5th fret (A!!!), but it fortunately turned to be a dead string I just restrung it with a fresh set. Try this first anyway.

There is no preamp in the NS2C's, they are completely passive.

Are you actually plugging into the bass input jack or did you mean your bass amp/rig?

Right into the input. The TonePump has plenty of juice to power the headphones.

So I've been away for a while, popped back in and noticed the above.

So this is kind of wild but I actually own that Rebop now! I very carefully compared the wood grain and its absolutely the same one.

It came with hipshot ultralights when I got it and I think it had been through a couple other TB'ers before I got it. I have since fitted EMG DC's and a BQC system. That bass is a tone monster. Thick and growly with an incredible B.

Here is a lousy photo but it best shows the wood grain. I'll take a better one later.

Our producer just sent us some rough mix of 6 tracks from the studio. Man, I'm so psyched how this last round of recording went. The first time in I used my 435LX with tonepump and GHS Boomers (into an Avalon U5 and mic'd Fender 100T). This time, I used my black 435LX, which has the US18v preamp and was strung with Blue Steels. I also swapped out the Avalon U5 for my new Reddi direct box. Man, I'm so much happier with the bass sound. The top end of the US18v preamp just really gives me the the growl I was looking for! I can't wait for it all to be finished and see what you guys think!

Yeah it's a good one. Seems weird it's been flipped so many times when it's such a monster. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I really don't think I could ever get rid of it. Don't worry it's well taken care of. I even wax it every few months with Warwick wax.

It sounded good stock but the DC's and BQC really took it to the next level. The HZ's have just a hair more grit but everything about the new setup is better. More clarity, punch, bottom, thickness and growl with less harshness. The B on this thing is just massive and amazingly clear. For such a light bass it sounds huge.

That being said...ReBops are poly finish, aren't they? Why are you waxing a poly finish??

Yes, thats exactly right...seems redundant too, but it is pretty handy.

That being said...ReBops are poly finish, aren't they? Why are you waxing a poly finish??

I wax all of my gloss finished axes about 4 x a year. I don't really need to, but I believe it helps protect the finish, and they look nice & shiny when I do....

Yes it is hard to tell, but if you blow up the pic you can see the bevelled edge, and of course the toggle switch is a dead give-away...as for if its a B or C, I cannot tell...I would have to see the back of the bass. Either way, its a rare bird.
