The control knobs, bridge and tuners are identical to my '89 white NS-2A.
Did anyone call on this yet to get the condition? I may jump on this, the store closed at 8 eastern.
But I am still questioning if I want a 5 string or not. I had a 5string Carvin many years ago and played it about 2 times and recently had a 6 string ESP LTD and kept it for 2 weeks.
This is hard to pass up for $299.
When you click the link (Invalid Link Removed), it is the first one that comes up on the page. Price is $299.00 and it's listed as "SOLID BODY ELECTRIC
USED SPECTOR NAT 5 STRING". It is at the Hoover, Alabama store. I would jump on it, but I am holding out for a neck-thru (not at that price though)

2000 NS-2J. Like this but has EMG BTS system, brass nut, Solid Flamed Maple body (now SFM/Mahogany/SFM), Black Stain finish and 2 years older than this model, run started in 2002.

...and maybe it's just me but, do the E & G strings look awfully close to the edge of the fret board?
Now that I look again at this pic, maybe my strings are not as close as I thought to the edge. They are closer to the edge than my Legend 4 is....

I'm not sold on that being an NS-2A, either. Lotta good copies around...
Doesn't look so much like my black NS-2A... but I did buy mine used and maybe it's not right either....
I'm not the only one that thought it was a bootleg copy
I don't see the Spector brand on the bridge... EDIT: I see something is etched in the bridge now that I was able to enhance the pic, but I can't read it. Maybe it says Spector on the bridge maybe not, it does look like the locking bridge on my Legend 4...
IMO, it still looks like it's worth about 300.00 in it's current Bartolized configuration...

Hey trace is your ns2a a early Kramer or a later Kramer/samick ns2a ? There are some key differences on the two . The body contours and control knob placements being the most noticeable .
I don't know when mine was made, I bought it used for 275.00
but,the serial number stamped in the pickup cover...
Which I always thought was absurd.
If you break or loose it and make another or switch covers with another... who would know.
And without an example of each, I couldn't tell ya.
The older ones control knobs were forward in a diamond pattern infront of the bridge and had a more rounded contour to the top and bottom horn . The samick kramers were flatter on the top and bottom horn and the knobs were almost under the bridge . Not sure if the samicks had a haz copy pre . There's a sunburst ns2a samick on eBay .

But nowhere near as bizarre as the OTHER samick I saw when I searched on ebay, its like some kind of spector copy, 5 string with p-j pickups, weird logo on the headstock.

Ah.. that's right...mine is forward of the bridge.. Mine is earlier NON Samick Kramer, then. It's also, gloss black, black hardware, Spector branded pups, dot inlay, la lal la la.....
Also just to mention , the samick sunburst finish transitions way harder from
Color to color , the older ones transitions smooth as butter from color to color .

My Kramer NS-2A I can tell that there's more craftsmanship put into the curvature of the neck/headstock joining and the body/horns. Thanks for pointing out the Samick! Until a couple days ago I never heard of Samick Spectors. Were they licensed by Spector?

Got an answer from today's email to the seller of the white "NS-2A"...

The bridge says: "Spector ? " and there are no markings in the cavity, other than on the pots. I'm sure the Bartolinis were a change and the inlays appear to be real inlays, and not decals. I'll contact the person that you mentioned in your last email. Thank you.
