Any playable SPECTOR you can get for 100 bucks is a great deal. The Performer Series is a good bass. For the money bnew it's best in it's class.
I sent a PM to Murphys Law on 6/5 asking for a number. Havent heard back from him yet.

yes indeed, first Spector. In the last year, I went from a 2009 Jazz to a Warwick , to a Tobias, and now trying a Spector. The body really appeals to me, as well as sound, and I have read nothing but good about them. The Euro I am getting has very few hours on it ( the guy owns 3 Euros), and is supposedly mint. Also, he tells me the longer scale is great for playing on the lower end.

I feel a love story coming on. It will be even better then you imagine.
Couple words of advice.
1) Make sure you sleep well before you get it, because you will get very little sleep when you are up all night playing it.
2) Becareful driving home because you will be driving very fast after you touch it and then try to get home as quick as possible to play it with your own rig.
Been playing the XL quite a bit (shocking!) over the last week, and I really like what Spector has done with the neckthru and bolt-on US basses. The XL, to my ear, has a great modern sound, with a slight scoop to the mids and a great response to technique and EQ at the amp. The bolt-on H2, on the other hand, has a much thicker, darker, more middy sound that can really thump if so desired... I need to toss some fresh strings on the H2 to see how bright it can get but I really like the way it sounds with the old strings
Kudos to Spector for taking this approach with their lines. My first Spector (Legend Custom) was, quite honestly, awful in my hands; it was so bad that I swore the company off for years before stumbling onto an NS-2J at a local shop. I haven't been a Spector player for too terribly long, but I don't see myself being without one in the future. Fantastic instruments.
