Actually that'd be wrong too. The first CR imports did start until 1994.

No worries. I wasn't correcting you... just stating that even if they mean 1993 they'd be wrong there too. LOL.

And actually $800 is about right if it's in good shape. This has the solid maple wings everyone goes on about. Pearl Dot neck, but still a great bass.

Great stories about PJ. I just "liked" the Spector Facebook page as well so I can't wait to see some of the updates to it.

That is really awesome about that Ian Hill bass you picked up Trace and how PJ remembers everything about it. For him to give all that info and mention Limaguy's good heart health just shows how great of a person he really is. Little things like that make me love this company more and more.

Glad that Todd had such a cool email from PJ.

I have to tell you all that PJ Rubal is sincerely one of the coolest, nicest people you will ever meet. And besides owning 1/2 of SPECTOR and being Stuart's close friend and business partner, he's the guy who goes out and meets with artists such as Ian Hill and discusses their history and their basses with them, then comes back to Stuart and says, "I was talking with Ian Hill and it got me to thinking..."

So many of the wonderful new things SPECTOR has done that you love, is a mix of Stuart and PJ working together from ideas that PJ comes up with.

The Ian Hill bass is a prime example.

So is The Black Pearl... it came about from conversations that PJ and I had after seeing the bass that Stuart built for Evan Seinfeld of Biohazzard... Todd Cooke's amber NAMM bass this past January and some crazy guy at NAMM who was trying to sell granite and semi-precious stones to be used for guitar inlays.

There is no question that if Stuart is the Soul of SPECTOR.
PJ Rubal is the Heart of SPECTOR.

Yes..
Rarely do you find a company with this caliber of people.
The kind of people that really care about not only the quality of their products but for/about their customers, as well, even if they are not the original purchasers.
People like PJ Rubal, Stuart Spector and the rest of the SPECTOR team are what make a company great.
Having great products and top notch customer service/support are part of what keep loyal customers coming back and why I am sold on SPECTOR products.

WOW! I'm so so happy that I play SPECTOR basses!!! This morning I heard a bassist warming up for a gig and the sound coming from their MIM Fender Squier bass was killing my ears...made my head wrench sidewise! OUCH!!!!

After miraculously surviving it's shipping experience in a crushed box, with no case, and virtually no packing protecting it...

and after a generous cleanup, and setup, and touch up and new strings...

I have to say i'm very smitten with this Rebop 5.

(I'm digging the combination of a Big Al 5's versatility and the Rebops attitude.)

I've owned a natural ReBop5 DLX and I must say, other than the ZeBops I've seen on here, this is the most gorgeous ReBop that I've seen! Congrats!!!

Ya know...I'm really diggin my Spector-Core Fretless 4.

It had a shorting out problem. But I fixed that, the printed circut board for the Fishman was floating about in the control cavity! Fixed.

The piezo bridge PU rocks.

Don't really care for the lines neck.

I know it's a cheaper Spector...but I still love it.

How're you digging the sound??? I came so very close to buying a SpectorCore this winter. But there hasn't been a lot of publicity among SPECTOR endorsed artist. Unlike other SPECTORS i.e. Forte, Coda's and Rex's. /: So I was a little skeptical on their sound...if it was the sound that I was looking for. Can you share a track with us please?

Plus, I really dig the weight of my Rebop4 - less than 8lbs for 4-5 hour gigs = less pain. LOL

My Rebop5 is heavier, closer to 9lbs - still - for long gigs, not bad.

My NS-2A is also not too heavy.

My Ian Hill is really lighter than the NS-2A I had.
