For one... I find my self resting my forearm/elbow area on the back "wing" which seems quite comfortable... Seen a video of John entwistle playing his buzzard and it just makes sense now why he plays like that however I don't keep my bass as high as him. Also the placement of the strap peg behind the neck makes it a lot more free flowing when standing... A bit odd at first but now it just feels like I have w lot more freedom. Wide strap helps because there can be a neck dive... Well there definitely is a neck dive but with where my right arm rests.. I doesnt even happen.
The neck on the Rex5 also feels much thinner and a flatter radius which is nice. It's fun to play lol

GC's got a Kramer NS-2B in fretless. Although it might be an NS-2C if it's bolt on, can't tell....

Don't feel bad Chris, that is a cool idea.

Guitar center has a "USED SPECTOR FORTE 4STR BASS" in a Rex shape for $549. 106160497 Pretty Sure it's not a Forte for that price and Rex shape, but that would be very cool, Forte with the Rex shape.

I bet you could get one built for you.

You could also try lowering the pups a bit to send less signal to the Tone Pump. A lot of others do/did that before the trimppt version came out...

Cool, thanks for the info. I was just curious since I keep looking at these and I didn't want to be in for a huge surprise when playing one. I used to have a BC Rich Warlock back in the day that had the strap peg behind the neck so I have dealt with that before but it was a long time ago. Most of the time though, I don't even have a strap connected since I am just jamming here at home.

Then I start getting crazy thoughts like seeing if a 9V USA circuit would work in a Rex Pro. Is that even possible or no? Oh, the dollar signs just keep flying by. :)

Delucajohn, did you see the picture on Bass Central's site of the custom NS-2X built for a customer? It has me seriously gas'n for an x. It's a lot to pay for in a US model though, and not being able to have good access up the neck. Oh, but if X's were available in the Euro models....

Someone needs to buy the trans blk 5er at GC and trade me for my brownie! lol

Looks like it's a bolt on . Look at the end of the neck . It's squared off . Not rolled down and beveled like the 2a . And if I'm
Not crazy the 2b and 2c both had the toggle switch . I didn't know they did a factory fretless . Dont remember seeing or reading about it .

Yup, I saw that but can only imagine how much it was :) Like you said though, it is huge amount to pay for a bass that doesn't have good access past like the 20th fret.

I'm sure you can install the of on the rex5 pro.. I wouldn't see why not.

I'm looking at hopefully going through a few preamp changes in my Rex5.

I have pulled the trigger and ordered a Forte 4. :hyper: :bassist:

But it will be made from scratch and will not be ready till after NAMM, so the ETA is mid-late Feb 2012. :bawl: :help:

But I need some time to get the funds up anyway so its all good.
