Exactly on the muting, if you notice the Forte just ends quicky because I did needed to mute it because the new section of the riff was about to start. I have never come accross this much sustain on any bass I ever played in 28 years lol.

I've had almost nothing to compare it to so thanks for posting those samples! I also have to mute the notes :D:D The sustain is crazy and I use Nickel Lo-Riders.

Look what showed up in my office this morning.

It's in amazing condition for a 20 year old bass. The money frets are a bit worn and there are a few finish pimples, but it seems to play great. I can't wait to get it home and try it out!!

Nice cherry burst guy! I had one earlier this year then sold it due to not liking the color.
Loved the play action and tone! Awesome bass!!!! Congrats!!!!!

You are....

I think I meant Gungr was 277.
Might have been an auto-correct malfunction on my Droid, thinking I mis-typed 272 as 277 and fixed it for me...
Smart Phone not so smart...

My son just got home and out of the USMC and I have not seen him for 2 years so I been a bit busy.
Not been on my computer in days... been using my phone to try to keep up. that's why I have not been posting much other than Membership numbers..:(

I'll research backwards and see but I think the stats are...

I think I may have come to terms with my String Obsession and have now settled on Sadowsky Blue Label Steels.

I am selling my DR Steel sets and the Black Diamond Steel sets.

I really loved the Black Diamonds but I think they may have some nickel in them since I have noticed a bit of my usual allergy reaction when I played them for more the 20 mins the past few days.

If any Spector club member is interested in all 5 sets PM me, I would let them go for a great price.

I think I may have come to terms with my String Obsession and have now settled on Sadowsky Blue Label Steels.

I've finally arrived at my string of choice being TI Jazz flats.

It's taken me a while to get there, my first sets were Blue Steels, then D'Addario Nickel Wounds, then switched to flats with a set of DR Legends, then some Chromes on the four string, then the GHS Precision flats that came on the NS-95 when I got it from icebox (they are the smoothest of all the sets I've tried, just too mellow for me), then a set of Chromes to replace those, and finally I bought a set of TI Jazz Flats for the four string and all I can say is WOW!. All the brightness of Chromes and reduced tension to boot. I don't think I could ask for anything more... except them not being so expensive maybe. :D

Next up will be a set of TI's for the Spector in the spring.

Well I spent some time tonight cleaning and buffing this bass, and it looks even better than before. The few finish marks buffed right out. I'll take pictures tomorrow.

Heres a question for NS2a owners: do you find the output of these basses to be a bit weak, especially compared to other Spectors. I find the output weak and somewhat "dull" compared to my other two Spectors, especially my Euro. Anyone?

So my Rebop finally arrived today and I'm stoked! Unfortunately, she didn't arrive unscathed... :crying:

There are two spots right at the base of the neck on the body where the finish chipped off during shipping. I don't blame the seller, he did an excellent job packaging it for shipping. I can only guess it was the weather change coming from upstate New York to south Georgia and riding in the back of a UPS truck for a week.

It's a little bit of a buzz kill because the finish is so gorgeous (I can't find a single other blemish anywhere) and I'd never seen a Rebop with the transparent green like this before. Ah Well, it's a bolt-on so now I've just got to see if I can color match the the best I can and do some touch up.

Here are some pics:

:hmm: I wonder how much a pro would charge to try to refinish those bad spots? Love the bass, though. Sounds and plays EXACTLY as I remember. :hyper: :bassist:
