Squier Owners Club

We are too cool for numbers here, just put "Squier Owners Club" in you signature and you're in.....and remember, the new guy has to bring the beer......

:D

Done. Is Stroh's OK for the beer? I can kick in some Vernor's too if you have some Seagrams to mix in.

I'm an old Michigan boy myself. Born Mt. Clemens, raised most of my early life in Port Huron. Moved to AZ and ended up back in MI and graduated from Algonac HS. Went back to AZ after HS and settled down. I miss the fall there in MI but don't miss the snow one bit.

One of the highlights of my years there was a trip to the now famous Fox Theater in Detroit to see Berry Gordy's Motown Revue. I think it was winter of 68. Every huge Motown act was there and the show was awesome. I was just another kid back then and wasn't into music like later years. Knowing what I know now, I wonder if it was Jamerson playing that night? I do remember the sound in there was very good, you could hear everything. The bass was really pumping even where we were up in the balcony.

I see you're in the UP so I won't ask if it's cold up there. I will say that here in AZ it was around 70 and the sun was out today :)

Keep Low :bassist:

How it is today....Alder body....same 1984 neck. It is one of the best necks I have ever had the pleasure of playing on.

Greetings from Norway,
I would like to join the Squier owners club, I am now the owner of a "Squier by Fender Deluxe Jazz Bass Active V 5-String Bass"
as the ad says :D .
I got it second hand from a guy who bought it new a year ago, and he hated it so I got it dirt cheap. Its easy to understand why he hated it, the setup was awful, or rather, it was never set up correct.
I used an hour on adjusting it and now its much smoother, but I am going to let a qualified guitar tech do the setup good and proper.

I hope I am not hijacking the thread by asking for advice on choice of strings for this bass?
I play mostly blues, blues/rock and use a Markbass amp.

On my fretless Godin I use Rotosound flats, which sounds very good, can one use flats on this jazzbass?

cheers

I have the same bass in Black, and it is rocking with a nice set of flats, I have Chromes on it now.:)
