I Love this album! it is like nothing they made before. I dont really understand how you can not like it but whatever. its very unique. Red Hot Chili Peppers are my favorite artist of all time by far. I love all there stuff.

I understand if you listened and don't like it but don't just go THERES NO FUNK WAAAAAHHHHHH!

Not closed minded, but people sure don't like change. Sure BTW broke away from the funky-loaded-on-speed RHCP, but I <3 Venice Queen. That's pure genius imo.

Completely Agreed....last Chili Pepper album that got respect from me is Californication....Im a huge fan of their older stuff since 1983, but now, theyre ****in kelly clarkson! and Anthony's style changed, he's not a sexually potent funk singer anymore.....his new style is monotonous and lame......Frusciante has always been out of his mind, but ever since "By the Way" he sounds too soft and artsy.

However, i did hear some funk, very lttle, a meager attempt.

I also get the CD also.
But after seeing some news about that CD, there seems something call B-side in this ablum, but really dunno what is that.
And i found 38 and unrelease song, any one tell me what is them?

B-sides are extra songs attached to singles. My favorite by RHCP are Gong Li, Body of Water, Rivers of Avalon, Eskimo.

Why not? I don't like it because there is no funk, and the funk was the only part of them that I liked. BSSM has to be skipped for tracks like 'under the bridge' and 'i could have lied'. I think you're intolerant of people who want them to play funk. :spit: ;)

I think this record is way better than By the Way or Californifcation. I think it's more of a rock record than a funk record. Flea is more interested in other flavors than slap in his playing, and Frusciante is cranked up and putting a lot more of his stamp on the band. I like the way the production is stripped - they sound like a 4 piece band. People are right that they are not playing like they did in 89 -- but I think they're playing well at what they're doing.

Maybe some of you Red Hot Chili Pundits could help me out. For years I hadn't heard their tunes, but I read their name lots and saw Flea in Bass Player mag lots. I heard they were funky and Flea was a badass slappin, poppin kind of guy. Finally I heard a tune - it was "Higher Ground". I liked it and gave them points for covering Stevie Wonder, even if the singer didn't quite have the range. (not many have a range like Stevie) Found out one of my kids has a best-of album, the one with "Higher Ground" and "Californication". We listened to it on a long car ride, and it seemed to me that "Higher Ground" was the only one with any funk to it, and the only one I liked. I thought, "THIS is the fabulous Peppers?!?" I was underwhelmed.
So my question is: which album has the most badass Flea performances on it? Which one got him his reputation? I'm guessing it's an older one. From what I've read here, I wouldn't be a fan of the latest, or Californication, or By The Way. Don't want that midtempo stuff, gimme the funk!

Are you kidding? I've given 3 listens to Stadium Arcadium. IMO there are no memorable tracks except maybe "Torture Me"

Californication was a complete album with no songs that seem like "filler."

Too bad Rick Rubin wasn't producing this album.

Well I disgagree with your opinion of the album. I love all of it. I can't find any "filler"

and Rick Rubin DID produce the album I dont know where you read that...
