Stingray 5 30th Anniversary

Yep. In the series or filter settings only (neck and middle toggle positions), parallel (bridge toggle position) was fine. It would play fine for a bit and then start sounding almost like a dead battery - fading, fuzzy output - but the battery and battery box at that time were both fine. I had checked wiring connections and all looked ok. When I called them, they originally guessed it would be the pickup.

So they changed the pickup finally? I cant believe we are getting this kind of problems with a highend and expensive instrument.

One more question.. did ur bass came with The strings extremely high?

Yeah, I know. Shouldn't happen, but it does. What matters to me most in situations like this is that the company stands behind their product, cares about the customer, and takes steps to fix the problem. EBMM has definitely done that for me, so I'm happy. As far as the strings being extremely high, the action on my bass was set to what I'd consider medium-low and in my mind, perfect. So, no problems with where the action was set for me.

Battery box received yesterday and replaced this morning. This bass is officially in business.
I received the bass back this morning. Took it home and plugged it in...no sound. Ugh! Tried a couple of cables and two different amps, same result. Checked the battery box and found the culprit. The little flap or door that folds back to access the battery was almost broke causing it to not put the proper pressure on the battery so there was sufficient contact when it was closed. Doh! Contacted EBMM and they're sending out a new battery box. I was disappointed that this wasn't caught before it shipped out to me, but they've been great when I contacted them. Things happen, I get it, no worries as long as they take care of me, which they have.

Meanwhile, a piece of gaffers tape is keeping the battery snug and the previous issue regarding low/no output was solved by replacing the pickup.

As a follow up, I received the new battery box yesterday and installed it this morning. Bass is officially in business!

Hope they take care of my bass as well?

I will let u know of any news! Thanks!

Hi guys! As a follow up, I was in talks with EB Customer Services and it turns out that I was having a ground Connection problem with my amp :-(. The power cable was designed for US and I was using an adapter for my country that was failing. My old bass was not producing The noise So it was tricky to get to The siurce if The problem. they said that The SR was designes un a way that it needs to have a reallly good ground Connection.

Well im really Happy with my new bass and it make a good couple with my pf-500 and pf210he

Glad you got it resolved. I just spent the weekend gigging my SR5 30th and loved every minute of it.

Hi
New guy here
I ordered a 30th SR5 roasted maple from Sweetwater over a month ago and they are telling me Sept/Oct delivery.
Can anyone tell me if this indeed takes that long or that's just ball park?

thanks for your help
Cool
Was lucky...Walked into Guitar Center Hallendale Florida...Was hangin' on the wall....

That's one beautiful picture...!
That Flea bass is calling my name too...!
thanks
Cool
The Flea bass is a wonderful 4 string...I like it better than a very expensive custom shop 62 jazz I once had.. The Bongo is terrific as well......Women love it! I think its the color....Firemist Gold....Sounds and plays great and very light! Been mostly playin' 5 string these days....After 3 1/2 years of struggling....I think, by jove, I got it!....lol......Finally comfortable with it!

If I remember correctly, Bass Central has one in stock and they have free shipping. Same price as Sweetwater. I ordered my Bongo 5HS and Yamaha Nathan East from them and in both cases, it was an excellent transaction.

I've bought basses from both and loved the bases and dealing with the companies.

But the advantage of Sweetwater is you can get 2 and sometimes 3 year no interest financing.
