I kinda feel bad for the seller, in a way. Maybe he has some recourse with the pawn shop...dirty scoundrels they are.
Of course, he should have been a little suspect to see a high end instrument in a pawn shop and then have it only be $1k.

Nor did their homework! $1000??? Makes you wonder what else they have in there 'illegally' and cheap! I wonder what they gave the guy who brought it in there?? Geez! Just wondering if they have to give this seller his money back?
actually funny you say that. Because Chris Benavente puts the serial number in a place that isn't common, the pawn shop might not have seen it. I have a close friend, who's family owns a handful of pawn shop in the Atlanta area and he sent the stolen bass info to the GA pawn desk and out to 17 counties... and, it still showed up at a pawn shop less than 16 miles from where it was stolen 14 months later.
thats great news. the cops where no help when I showed them the bass I had stolen from me was being sold on ebay after being bought at a pawn shop. but it was also an sx so I didnt get too upset. back on point congrats man bet your glad to have her back

Wow...congrats and good news for sure!!! Hopefully the criminal will get theirs and not do this again. I'm sure it feels good to have her back in your hands!

And to get it back in great shape as well...I had a feeling it hadn't gone far, but wasn't sure it'd turn up, due to its uniqueness. But to get it back again, and in pretty much the same shape as when it disappeared- man, that's amazing!
OK, so that's TWO Bennies I want to play when I come out there! The Original, and The Replacement...are you playing anywhere Sept 19-20? I'd love to swing by and catch you playing...

Congrats on getting the bass back. I'm in East Cobb and play/teach bass full-time. I couldn't find an insurance company to cover my stuff at home for the longest time. Pros don't get coverage by traditional insurance companies under homeowners. I know, I've tried with many companies.
Finally guitarist Steve Rieck hipped me onto promusicinsurance.com. They cover pros. Whether your equipment is ripped off at home or on the road, they're supposed to cover.
Luckily, I haven't needed to file a claim. I've been with them for almost two years and the fees are reasonable.
I've only gotten a bit of feedback on them from a couple people who say they are pretty good.
