Well I don't really buy into everyone in the band using the same tuner. I've never done that and I've never run into issues. I think as long as people aren't using broke tuners and try to stay in tune, everything will be fine.
But you really shouldn't use a pedal like a TU-2 to do intonation. It just isn't accurate enough. But apparently that Sonic Research one is much more accurate, so it would be appropriate. Most respectable techs will use a actual high end strobe tuner to intonate.
I think if that's what you have it will get the job done if your on a budget. I bought a peterson strobo-flip some time back for better setups, it works ok. It's a slight learning curve from using a tu-2 for so long.
