Stoner/Doom Bassist Thread Part 8 - Insert witty title...

Just caught up,Laz,summoner are fantastic!
I've been playing the rick through my Laney A.O.R.Essentially a 50 watt jcm 900 style guitar head.Sounds ****ing fantastic. My main gigging amp doesn't have a pre-amp gain on it, so it's a nice contrast. Dialling in some great hawkwind sounds.
I'm counting down, just over a week till Dead Meadow!

Played the SVT for the first time in about a year. Sounded good but not great. I couldn't get it dialed in where I like but I also did not spend much time trying. Biggest surprise was the Walkabout, did not need to tweak it at all basically ran it flat and it sounded really good and more than loud enough. I had the gain at 1 o'clock and master at noon and had no problems cutting through. I would not hesitate to gig with it as my main amp...although it looks ridiculous sitting on top of the 810. :).

We're playing at a sports awards banquet for a local college next week, basically doing funk covers and some Monobrow material while people go up to accept their awards, going to try do it with the walkabout and 210. Definitely the smallest and lightest rig I have ever used.

Don't be afraid to jump those channels :) and you go rock that "old man rig" Sam.

It's pure awesomeness!!! I was literally ready to sell my SVT a year before last because I was tired of the way it sounded. Then I coughs a thread about jumping channels and it was like a new amp. I basically run it kinda like a bi amp in a sense but not. Channel 1 is bassy and full and channel 2 brings cut and grit. Also the "suck button" is a big no no. So if you use that their is no point.

Lol what is the suck button? I've left all the boost/cut switches off I never use those on amps.

those would be the suck buttons...

We were a little short on time yesterday so I did not tinker too much. I'll spend more time with it this weekend. I was getting a very middy (in a bad way) tone, kind of thin and lacking punch. I have jumped the channels before but it has been a while. I should revisit that.
