After I wrote that I was thinking of the Fender Highway One series and how they get trashed fast, and if Gibson was like that.

I don't remember if the HWY1 came nitro or not, but I think the faster mojo basses are almost always nitro.

Then you get dudes telling other dudes to play the hell out of their poly basses (like they wear the same as nitro) because relicing is dumb...

I'm happy to stay in this thread.

An honestly relic'ed bass is waaaaaayyy cool. A faked one is not.

I've played one of those. It hella sucked!

Yeah I kind of imagine most of those old basses do after having that vintage SG style for a little while. More like something to hang on a wall than to actually play.

A good bass for players that need a piece that will relic quickly. The nitro on those basses is supposed to suck.


They look cool as hell though.

The nitro on the new EB is particularly sucky or all of Gibson`s basses with nitro finishes are weak? I only ask because I have a new Gibby Explorer in nitro sunburst. I haven`t noticed any wear and tear yet. But I`d like to know if I need to baby it.

man, i was hoping it was a video of you dropping your SVT and 810 onto all that stuff, watching it get squashed, then tuning your bass to sub E, hitting one note, then saying "**** you" to the camera.

but i guess ill wait for the results of the midget war to see which rig would sound better at church on sunday for the congregation. BURN! lol

Yeah the greenboy Bassic is a sweet cab. I gas for one with a faital 15PR400 in it... might just have to settle for a Dually.



In other news I have a Bassic 12 demo waiting for me to go un-box it. Wont be staying with me, but I will get to play through it for a bit before I send it back to Mark.
