Once everything was sorted they liked it, super impressed by the amount of low end and volume it could produce. I'm excited to practice again now that I got things set up correctly, I can spend more time dialing it in exactly.

Thanks lol. I have no idea why gib/epi changes everything about their products over time much to the chagrin of it's customers, but leaves the one piece of hardware people unanimously agree is the part that should have been changed.

I bet they call it the historic 3-point bridge or some other bs.

Artec pickup is a must (if you want vintage accuracy)! Mines straight to jack right now, I'll put the pots back in eventually with a tonal bypass. Right now I have rounds on it, but I'll switch to flats once I buy the better bridge.

I got mine from a guy who works for epi reclaiming returns and grinds the serial numbers off and resells them on Ebay. So he had like 7 to choose from I got the most richly finished and solid bass, since I knew I'd be gutting it.

You Spock Blocking me Kawai, lol, the old lady tells me that all the time. My goal is three guitars and three basses, lol, pretty much set on pedals now. I used to buy and sell lots of guitars, basses, and parts on ebay till the economy tanked, so I kind of love the action, and I love build cash to get higher end gear, and lately with my migraines the internet has become my hobby along with playing at home. Sadly hard to plan outdoor fun stuff when the dang migraines pop up at any time, but much easier when at home to move stuff. I think I enjoy packing boxes too, because I used to work as a Mail Inspector at a prison and would be in the return area packing stuff up, weird how I like that lol. Plus my Mom and late Stepdad used to sell baseball cards at shows then moved to the internet and my Stepdad always would say hobbies are even better when you can make a little cash at them or break even with them.

Cool review Ron, giving you more low end and volume to play with is good news for music and bad news for bowels.


Listening to a bunch of anti-social, borderline sociopath musicians (the BM guys, not YOU guys) talk about how their countries should expel all religions except for Viking paganism is kind of hilarious. If they WERE raised in that religion and it was the prevailing majority of their culture, they'd probably be committing hate crimes against pagan organizations, doing suicide bombings or sniping people in the name of Jesus. These are clearly people scrambling to look for reasons to justify violence and hate and feel like they know something special that everyone else doesn't get. They pop up in every society/culture/religion/belief system, they're not special little snowflakes. There's one of those turds floating in every punch bowl.

I still have a ton of pedal GAS going on and now I want one of those Carvin PB4's, but I'm spending all my spare $$ on tools lately. I have a new dual base router kit arriving today and I'm looking at drill presses, band saws and a few other things. I'm going to set up a little wood shop in my garage at home, so I can work on bass and guitar builds at home. Going to do my wood milling at work still though, planers, jointers and table saws and big bucks and take up a lot of room.

Yea $80-$150 seems the range usually. Both the black and red sell for the same price, since no one realizes most are plywood (still sounds good) and came from a starter pack. Those who purchased the bass as a standalone received an actually mahogany bass.

Only reason I cared about getting the real mahogany one was I plan on keeping it, and they seemed to put a more richly detailed finish and veneer on them.

Yeah that's the one, the model I got just has one master coil tap, for humbucker, P90, and single coil, the next higher model has two, one for each pup which would be even more versatile, so I really like it I may have that tone, because there on some cool vids of guys mixing up the two pups with different coils. Here's the vids I really dug, guy mostly plays clean but does throw some dirt on too.
