Its the new American standard FSR. Theyre doing a limited edition hand rubbed stain. There this which is the red wine, like the old sg color, and a dark mahogany for the maple board...got a good deal too. I order a particular one with a real worked woodgrain pattern and they accidentally sent me a different one. Its more plain, but I'll live.

Oops...make that four rays. I forgot one. God, im an addict. So if I sell the other I'll be down to four basses. Which is my self imposed rule. If I buy a fifth bass, even a beater, I got sell one. Thats the rule. So anyone want a Stingray Classic?

A maple board? Looks like rosewood. And if it is new, I would be particular if they sent me the wrong one and complain.

Mines the red wine/ rosewood, they also make a mahogany/ maple one. I called back and asked whats up, they apologized profusely and offered to ship it back and send me the correct one. It seems the shipping guy didnt double check serial numbers or something... Anyway the guy on the phone goes to get the one I ordered and finds it was sold while the one I got was in transit. They offered me a full refund and to pick up return shipping. But I think ive come to love it even though its a little more plain.

BUT!!! It's removable...gotta love velcro, holds her on there well enough and gives it some hit over the strings. I'm going to clean up the velcro a bit on the bass, and possibly put some by the bridge pickup, so I have choices...no cover, neck cover, bridge cover, and somewhere in between.

The functionality if it when I'm slapping and popping, tapping and finger style is phenomenal, I can tell I can slap better.

$92 if I don't buy any drinks or merch. Also don't know if the wife would be too hip with me not being around that many nights since she's been on baby duty pretty much nonstop and I'll be working 6am to 230pm to train for a new position starting that week. It's ike no shows and then all the shows in the same week.
