Honestly, this is why I quit the band I was in last spring/summer. Great guys, fun music, but there was no consistency. I need a regular jam, or I get all cranky. Sure, I get that they had been playing these songs for years, but I haven't and I needed the rehearsal to work out breakdowns with the drummer, etc. But it was less that than the weekly "We jammin?" "Let me check" days go by "oh, drummer has work, guitard is going camping, etc"

Drove me nuts.

Not marching band, but former military, similar approaches I'm sure :)

This is what really pissed me off about my last band. My schedule is tight. But as soon as I knew what nights I had free, I told them and asked if practice was a possibility. Half the week would go by until I would hear back, and then the free nights had passed. And I was the one who couldnt find time...

Yea I didn't expect it to be perfect, I just assumed the 400 woth boost cranked and a dirt pedal would semi function.

Guitars can play through anything.

Bass can't play through most guitar cabs. It's over extension of the speakers that's the issue

Any amp can be used by any stringed instrument.

How do you write songs if you don't meet aside from being sure your good play a show?

Hey guys , sup ? Been lurking but nothing serious to add on the chat for a while . Was thinking of starting a diy 3015 loaded tl606 poject as a cheap option of extra cab but a friend of mine is getting a new practise space and we are thinking of building something "larger" , gigable etc . Local classified suck bass-wise , haven't seen even a single fringe for a year , now one comes up for 900 euros (1000 usd) + shipping for 500km away = lots of money , so i am really GAS'ing for a '66 as to leave on the practise space and use for gigs . The drivers cost around 650-700 by a quick estimation of the local shops , totally worth it but was thinking of something less "excess" . Any suggestions about available 15' designs?

On another note , Eyehategod local gig just announced , 5 days before Weedater and 5 after Goatnake , going to see Earth at the end of the month + mini-fest in April with Dopethrone, Belzebong and 2 local killer acts . It's gonna be a great year...

3015 or 3015lf?

If I can get around to it. (Really doubtful at this point) I've got plans and speakers for a BFM Jack15, or Simplexx15. Both can use the 3015(which I've got) neither go super low but if your used to vintage cabs/Ampeg fridge the lack of lows won't be missed.
Hopefully I can build both and decide which I like the sound of better.
The Jack is supposed to be crazy loud (sensitive) but honky(ish) whereas the other is just a straight bass reflex.

3015 3015lf have identical price so whatever , the point is my cabs are ok for our tiny practise space (sometimes overwhelming) , so i am thinking of building a new one for the new space and gigs. Dually would be perfect but dem plans :( . What about those other fearfuls?

Big difference in the LF and non-LF versions of those drivers. The fEARful plans are great, but you would be buying a mid driver and building a cross over to pair with the 3015LF drivers.

Yep , i know about the difference of the lf and non-lf versions and about the mid drivers of the fEARfuls. The guy with the space , who is the guitarist in my current band and longtime friend has an electronics degree so he will be helping with crossovers and wiring plus my father works with wood and got loads of spare to contribute . The main point is the cost of the drivers in each situation ( 3015/3015lf + middriver or 2x3015 would be ideal moneywise) . Also , are those fEAfuls that hi-fi?

You know thats the funny thing. Other than sections where they tell me "I can do whatever" I don't really play a part in the writing process. The band is a project of the lead player and the drummer. When they are writing they will regularly say no practice. Then they want to practice and let me know they have new material to go over. The ironic thing is that they mentioned a few months back that they had a problem keeping people around because they evacuees said they would either cut them out of writing or shoot down all of their ideas. The guys told us and made it vwery clear that they are more than willing to hear my ideas and encouraged me to bring them to the table. It just so happens to be a table that doesn't exist. When we do practice they just want to run the set once or twice and when we aren't practicing and I suggest a writing jam, I usually get a "I'm not really feeling it tonight". Its going to be a bummer to leave if thats what I do, but honestly I didn't join this band to play shows. I joined it so that I could play with someone, anyone on a regular basis. My last 3 groups have fallen apart because everyone is ALWAYS to busy. I mean thats total bull****. I was only pushing for an hour or two once a week on a predetermined and agreed upon day of the week. Most of these yokels just want to hold their guitars and feel like rockstars. They don't actually want to play them.

LOL. I think I would of got stabbed if my girlfriend caught me taking pictures of her little sister and her sister's friend. I had to be pretty sly about rubbernecking even. Thankfully they all went out in the kitchen looking at something on the table and I got a great view of Mary Katherine's 20 year old super tight arse in tights, a lovely half moon profile shot. So, so tight I think you could bounce a brick off of it!!!

last week I asked about putting a chrome bridge cover on a newer fender hi mass bridge. I then left our corner to ask. I was met with a lot of no. Fair enough, but @tangentmusic sent me a free extra bridge he had to help with my project no questions asked (aside from what's my address). So I'd like to thank him for being so cool!

Turns out I just got the chrome cover in the mail yesterday at the same time and for giggles I tried placing it on the high mass bridge and what do you know it does fit. No worries though my first bass I ever played that I recently re acquired really needs a bridge as its rusted to hell so it did not get shipped in vain!

I repost this info on the thread I made to alert the rest of tb to this discovery and his kindness too.

Getting the parts together to put it together, and 5 other basses and guitars later today. Here is the thing in question though. Trying to decide between white strat or tele chrome knobs.
