DSC00608_006.jpg

bought this thing for the halloween show, cause it kind of looks like pumpkin pie and
the misfits have that song called bullet too
got my retro halloween stickers, got my black thumbrest, got my roto 77s, and next week i'm getting my
nordstrand nm4 mustang pickups, probably gonna let it go at the art show real cheap or just give it
to my friend's daughter who plays piano, it's 34" btw

Stoked, work is cancelled tomorrow, and my co-worker gave me a King cake today.

as a new zealander.. wh.. what is that?

another purchase recommendation question! i'm setting up a home demo recording and practice rig in my garage. i'm looking for a good little bass amp, but i want it to have toobs. would a modded valve jr with a small cab be clean at super low volumes? or should i look at some other options? it'll be mic'd up with an AKG P2 and paired together with a pignose mic'd with either an SM57 or E609 (have had good experiences with both). undecided on the interface at the moment, needs to have three xlr inputs at least.

@Niff I don't know much about the King cake other than it is some Mardi Gras traditional cake. It's like a cinnamon sticky bun with thick icing. And they have a hidden plastic baby inside lol. I think if you are served the piece with the plastic baby then you have to buy the next cake. The gal I work with was at a fundraiser and won two of them and some other stuff and gave me one. It came from Gambino's Bakery in Louisiana.

You're not going to like me saying this... and normally for our genre, I don't recommend them, but...

If you want a ******** of sub, fEarfuls kinda are probably the way to go about it. Peaveys are great and all, but most of the Peavey cabs I've played through are actually kinda Ampeggy in their voicing. Big in the low mids, not in the sub lows.

Though speaking of Ampeg, if you want obscene amounts of sub low, those 410HLF cabs that I despise and think are garbage for what I'm doing might be well suited. Just take out the tweeters.

You havent played a 1820 in a venue then. MASSIVE lowend amd volume from that cube sized 18 cab, and combine that with the Folded 18 while running full PVYHenge...oh boy.

Some day I need to visit Julian in Michigan and try his fearful and dually out.

The 1820 has some decent low end, but it has got nothin on a '66.

best practice in a long time yesterday. We have 2 songs that are 90% finisihed plus basic structures for another 4. We should be on track for another album in the first half of 2016.

Dialed the Wizard Fuzz into more of a really filthy OD sound and it worked really well. First time with the Xerograph Deluxe, a little underwhelmed considering the price and hype. I'll give it more time though.

@askrere,
is this who's been creeping around your house? Let him in to jam on your kit!
Former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbruzzese wanted by Texas police | Consequence of Sound

God I hope not, but better him than Vedder.

Actually weirdly enough, on the subject of the creeper. I walked home yesterday from a friends. I went the same route I went a few days before Halloween. As I'm sure you may not recall I was riding my bike, and some (hooded lady?) ran out in the street and tried to pull me off my bike.

Well yesterday on my walk home this lady (or very feminine figure) in a very strange purple pointed hoodie road very slowly behind me on a bike. Then passed me by speeding up and headed exactly around two bends towards my house.

Granted, none of these events have evidence to be put together. Still, horror movies get by with less logic, and there's always Murphy's law.

Still I've only seen this person at creepy times, never in daylight hours. And I don't really know my neighbors, but I'm one of three white people, and the others are rather large female specimens incapable of the speeds this thing produces.
