I remember when in the Guard we would all be trying to find a local barber who could do a proper fade before drill weekend or summer camp. Luckily I'm made it to 42 and not bald. Lately a little thin where I part it on one side so think my moptop run may be winding down. And if so I will be Patrick Stewarting soon enough.

It almost feels a little sad when you find keeper gear, not that I even have a use other than personal enjoyment for the stuff I have, but if I don't have something for sale or buying something it feels weird. Though maybe I am little like John Laroche. shagk Fish

While in elementary school, I had a flat top. You could set your watch to it. Pomade I used was called crew comb. That barber cut my grandpa's hair too. He retired a while back. Damn fine barber.

The main barber I went to growing up(he wasn't the best but ok) was a cab driver at night in Wilkes-Barre. He got arrested soliciting a prostitute and made the local papers. The wife's and mom's were oh my gosh you can't go there anymore, and all the men were like who gives a shite.

When I grew up the boy's were sent to the barber to get a "Plicky" for the summer, get your head shaved. Not sure how it was spelled, if it was a Polish, Slovak, etc saying from the ol' timers. I always wondered if people called it that in other parts of the country too.

Yeah, some of my childhood haircuts were, let's just say, substandard.

My mother cut all our of hair growing up, but she was a hairdresser so any type of cut we wanted she could do. Now I'm balding so it gets mowed like the front lawn. Short. I had heard that we inherit our hair from the grandfather on the mother's side, I hoped that was true because my grandfather had a full head of hair until the day he died - but it was not to be. Oh well, don't really care.

My grandfather cut my hair when I was little. He was a hoarder and had all the tools. Then I had long hair until I was like 16. Then had the same barber until parents bought an electric shaver and it was 7 milimeters for me, my brother and my father executed by my mother Never complained as I started to lose hair when I was like 20.
Now I just go with 7 mm all around by myself from time to time.

Parents kinda wanted me to get a hair transplant, but I said screw it, I have no problem with that.
Now most of my friends say they can't imagine me having lots of hair

i go to my moms hair stylist like twice a year oncevbefore Thanksgiving and again before easter...normallyvai grow it out during winter and theb do my own buzzing during the summer if it gets too long.

I just shave my head every other day now, with a decent waterproof electric razor in the shower. I can't be bothered paying for all this fancy hairs cutting.
