Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Man..so I bought a multi-coil Wal clone Musicman Pickup for my SUB with the graphite neck. I went to put it in last night and it wouldn't fit because the pickup is too tall. I contacted the guy and told him and asked "what basses will it fit?". He says he doesn't know because he makes his own basses and it fits them. REALLY??? You'd think you would warn people that your pickup ONLY fits your basses! grrrrr.

For a natural, maybe $300 I would think... Maybe. More limited colors and RW boards and its a little more, but in all reality they can also go for dirt if you find the right seller.

Hot damn the recording is going great. Drums, guitars, and bass are done. Vocals soon I hope.

After a poopie-ton of trial and error I ended using my Mesa Bottle Rocket into Sansamp Bass Driver into the slave input on an SVT to an old Fender 2x15. My signal was a mix of clean DI, Sansamp, and several mics on the 2x15. All of them sounded killer. Tried to go will all miked bass amps but it was too wooly for the new Asthma Castle tunes.

Edit - I did not write the word poopie. TB must have some new filters.

That is truly effed up. He should let you return it. What are you going to do route your body and then not be able to go back if you don't like it? Why even sell the frigging thing.
Buy my Wal clone Mucisman Pickups that don't fit Musicman Bassses. He probably sells powdered water too.

T40s have gotten out of hand. They should be around 2-300$. Right now they are going for $400 plus. It sucks.

There are so many decent peavey basses. Do you like jazz, p or something else, usually?

Unh...gah...

Well, that IS about as 80s as a look can get, but to me (having lived through all this) it was the WORST of the 80s.

What about a goth/Robert Smith of The Cure look? Or total safety pin punk (although none of the punks I ran with did much of that...it was more flannels and Doc Martens...)

Maybe go all...Flock of Seagulls?
