Oh yeah, we had a good time. Saw a pair of fawns playing around and munching grass, had a canpfire, ate lots of food, napped in the hammock, hiked around, got some wild leeks and looked for mushrooms.

I grew up in Iowa rampaging through woods and weeds all the time. Never got a tick bite. I went on one short backpacking trip near the border in Minnesota. I was brushing hordes of ticks off my jeans on the trail at one point. Came back with one embedded in my thigh, only tick bite I've ever gotten.
I should clarify that I meant the border between Minnesota and Canada, not the border between Iowa and Minnesota. Not a whole lot of backpackable wilderness on THAT border.

I saw one of these, and was thinking about using it for a mini-board, just 4 pedals, kinda too cheap though, i could twist it in my hands.
The gorm is handy, idk if ikea still sells it though. I used to work there and they move through stuff and go to newer designs every so often. I'm sure they have it or an equivalent though.
Since mizzurah don't got the cultural hub of meatballs that is IKEA, you'll need to do the next best thing. Partake in some trees then wander around Walmart and Home Depot until you find something. With a drill and a few lumber scraps you could make your own gorm. Home Depot would even make the cuts for free if you ask nicely.

Danelectro was taken off the market, and cathedral sold before I could get it. At least I got my overpriced Hershey bar brown tele clone.
Yeah, good old St. Louis is getting an Ikea this fall, and I don't want to wait. And it would be very easy to make my own gorm-style board, but I don't have the power tools. Don't feel like spending a few hundred to make this thing! Might just wait a week or two until I have some time and go to my dad's place. He's got everything I'd need, I was just figuring I'd find one "premade" and go from there. I have all the stuff to attach a wedge/bottom etc., just not cut the wood. I actually found a shoe rack at Walmart that might work, too. It would get me 2 boards!
Oh, and Home Depot around here doesn't do more than 1 or 2 free cuts anymore. I tried on a previous home project.
If the wood ain't too thick they have the manual saw set up in the molding aisle, grab some wood, grab a tap measure off the shelf and go to town.
Saw these stompblox pedal boards in Bass Player magazine. Wonder if anyone here saw them in person and dug them. I like that you can add or take off sections and make L and U shaped boards. Reasonably priced too.

You should only need a drill. For screwing it together.
My Home Depot did all my cuts, but I'm pretty and good at acting clueless.
My favorite tool and it was cheap. A Black N Decker Pivot drill and a set of speed load bits.
Lowes and them have shelving similar to what the GORM is. You might want to have a look. You basically need two pieces of wood. One big flat piece for your pedals to sit on. On piece joined on the front at a 90* angle to tilt the board up. You could probably salvage a pallet if you have a couple basic tools. You can usually find pallets for free in the warehouse district of town.
To put it in perspective, Max had a piece of wood with a carpet scrap stapled to it. As long as you have a piece of wood, a drill, and some quick-ties, you can make almost anything work as a pedal board.

So have the rig setup now with several output options for recording. Signal chain is split early at the BDDI, out at this stage could be dialed in for one signal via XLR or .25". BDDI Parallel out goes to the rest of the board and into the SansAmp VT-RM. VT-RM has a effected and un effected outputs, also effected XLR DI out. I use the .25" effected jack to the power amp. If we choose to mic the cabs the effected out would be used eliminating this one going to the mixing board. But the XLR DI could be used as well for a effected direct signal.
