The DZ bass is really goddamn nice, but aimed at a demographic much different than I. Neck is fast as shag, but tone is very snappy and scooped sounding. Dirt pedals did not sound good.

Part of the peaceful Colorado scenery, is the insane noise laws. You can't do anything outside of a studio. (By anything, I mean play above bedroom level. Apartments here, are earphones or nothing). People with race mufflers can get ticketed for noise violation, just to put it in perspective.
Right. Think of the sound as rays of the sun. The batting in cabs helps focus that sound to be more precise. A magnifying glass over the ant hill, if you will.
Cutting fuzz update: upped the "Boost" on my Rails pedal. Seems like everything cuts much better now. If only I had practice more than once a week. The waiting to find out if my new ideas work is terrible. 1st world problems and all that.

Getting a 10x15 storage unit with a friend. finally I'll be able to move around my house while I sell my stuff.
Had a pretty fantastic NPD yesterday. Finally, after 8 long months, my LWA pedals arrived. It was a frustrating 8 months of setbacks, but Joe really came through with the CS and hooked me up big time. It pays to remain patient and polite.
Iron Fist is wicked. I could tell immediately that my HS has been dethroned. I can get the hail satan tones and much much more. It's probably the most versatile and intense muff I have ever heard, and the depth knob is insane. Really thickens everything up and maintains the high end grind. It made my ears feel good.
The Extreme Octave is also pretty cool. The fuzz sounds great. It's going to take some tweaking to find a fuzz tone I like that cooperates with the octave though.
Finally, the Little bastard is a surprisingly great sounding fuzz as well. I got it for the novelty of putting together a miniature pedal/guitar board. It holds enough low end that it may end up on my bass board.
I'm pretty stoked all around. It was worth the wait. I can't wait to unleash the Fist at the next practice and our show with Black Tusk on Thursday.

something interesting happened, my sister's friend growing up has become a goth model, she invited me to a death rock party in NY, and she works at an art gallery, kinda weird i just assume everybody I know from PA still lives in PA and works at some business i used to go to as a kid in the 80s

Anyone have experience with the Tube Works Real Tube pedal? It's one of the BK Butler ones. Apparently not the desirable one? But why? It has a mids knob, and the others don't. Seems like it would be useful. Just don't know. Should I grab one if the opportunity arises? (Which it has!)
Ok practice yesterday. Finally finished off a new tune probably going to be a set intro instrumental. Vocalist looked board while we were polishing it up and had two decent runs with it.
We turned down a little after a break and tightened things up some more. New show in late October offered at 427 Gilman, everyone was ok with it, more details to come.
Bummed Pyramid Brewing closed down the operation across the street. It was a nice place to hang before the show.
