Well, the heat wave is gone and there was a shift in the weather. Turned to full blown Autumn in like 4 days. Been raining last 2 days, 60 degrees and all. Kinda miss the 100 degree temperatures already.
Nothing on band and bass front lately.

So I'm down to one last component on the rat clone- the filter pot. The other two pots are on the board just fine, but the filter pot doesnt fit because there's no room on the pcb for the housing ( pots are board mounted, whole project is designed to fit in a 1590b box). I could wire up an off-board pot but then it wouldn't all fit in the enclosure. Been paging through digikey and mouser but can't find anything that will work.
Emailed the pcb company but havent heard back. Might just end up using a trimmer with a small shaft. Frustrating.

Wired up a 100k trimmer and fired it up- it works! And it sounds awesome! Gets into full blown fuzz territory but can still do low gain very well. Only tried it with guitar, but i can tell that it cuts a lot of low end so it probably won't work too well for bass. Oh well, that's what the M85 is for.
Still need to drill the enclosure and put the whole thing together, gotta see if i can borrow a drill press - my last enclosure was a hack job.

He said his great uncle gave it it to him for his birthday one year, and it came with "custom" pickups he had to wire in himself. That makes sense because they should be gold plated not open zebra.
Most I see online are bigsby bridges and post "lawsuit". Only thing similar to this is a white version that's all over because apparently dan Auerbach used one. No info on this bolt on brown sg custom with vibrola.
If it sounds/feels like a keeper I've already emailed WD music to see about how to measure this thing to see if a Gibson guard will fit. If they do and with more luck a full size pickguard fits, I'd get an SH standard guard and wire it as a regular SG probably with GFS mean 90's in gold.
It's just a cool factor thing. To my knowledge p2p and pcb based circuits sound the same.

I found out the wiring is on-on-on and three volume pots with master tone. Weird, but maybe I can think of something else that can be done with the wiring and keep it three.
All only if it seems like a keeper vs my mustang gas.
Decided the "Real Tube" serves the guitar rig better. The minor difference in harshness was not worth the struggle of that extra cord on an already busy bass board. We'll try it there, and see what happens. Still surprised that I picked up the subtle difference. Also surprised at how similar SS pedals and this tube pedal can sound. I know I'm not a "tube connoisseur," but I figured it would be a much larger difference based on what I hear people say. It really wasn't to me. But maybe that's just me. Anyway, I got my DOD250 sounding VERY similar to the Real Tube, and I'm going to give that a whirl for my slower heavy stuff. Got the board pared down to 8 pedals, hoping to keep it at that fairly manageable size.
And whoever suggested OD into fuzz, thanks! That combo is really killing it on my guitar board with Real Tube into either my Supercollider or Pharaoh. Gotta pare that board down now too!

First three don't Carry music stuff here in town. Local GC opens in October. For now I have to drive about 35 miles round trip to get to one. Too lazy today to justify the time and gas.
Tomorrow I'll grab some somewhere in town or maybe there is somewhere near my work.

Anyone know how accurate the SA BEF's emulation of the MXR BEF is? I'm really loving the SA, but it's just huge on the board. Not that I want to get rid of the SA, but I only ever use one setting, so if I could size that pedal down it would be nice. It's like 3x the size of an MXR, and since that's the pedal I emulate with it...
In other news, @Pelham Bleu , I just looked on GC used for the MXR BEF. Found one for $60. Of course, it already sold and the listing is still up. Just my luck. 1st world problems and all that.

Been fine with my "auto wah" setting on the Digitech BSW for now. Doesn't sound great, but it's economical.
Yeah, the wah was also a reason I put the Real Tube on the guitar rig. The DOD250 seemed to gel better with my SA BEF.
