Who said I want "light"? I checked it out at the store, liked it well enough on bass, but it's always hard to tell. I ran it through the closest rig they had to mine, but even then, no store puts flats on basses like I prefer. It killed on guitar, though, so I bought it knowing that it can at least cover plenty of my guitar needs, if not bass ones. Gonna plug it into my bass rig now and see what happens.
$90 for this sexycaster and a hard case. Dinged and a bit rusty and no pickguard or trem arm, but they can be sourced.

Coming to the slow realization I may prefer OD and distortion to fuzz on my bass. Not sure about it, but I just can't seem to make fuzz sound exactly how I want. Obviously, the mix will tell if my most recent foray into fuzz works for me, but after purchasing the Real Tube by BK Butler, I'm really preferring it to my fuzz pedals. And even on my fuzz pedals, I prefer very low fuzz, more like distortion. Gotta figure this out. Maybe the reason I can't get the sound I've been after is because I've been looking in the wrong place! Gonna try and crank some OD/distortions tomorrow and see if that's what I've got in my head. Wish me luck.
I don't even know where to begin. I can tell you they are bad ass though. I'll try to think of better descriptions next time I play, or I can take some phone audio. I have an interface and reaper, but I am recording stupid. I just can't quite figure it out. If anyone is familiar with a Saffire Pro 14 and reaper get at me. I'd love to figure out how to make basic recordings.
So the toggle switch rotates? I haven't seen a switch like that before.
That SG is insane. I always loved Vs and SGs.
I like OD into fuzz a whole lot. It gets pretty gainy, but I like the grind out of the upper mid range that a lot of OD/distortions give to the tone. I really want to try out dod250 and compare it to the speaker cranker. I also need to work my Fire Ant back on the board. Always gets pulled eventually but it is still a pretty sick rat and as such generally makes its way right back on.
Just got a(nother) DOD250. Quite like it! Currently trying to pare down my board, but never quite make it too small. DOD250 or Real Tube are currently contenders for my heavy and slower OD sounds, with the B3K being my faster, thrashier OD sound.
That would be a 10-4. Damn nice! Great score there...just...damn.

I've always preferred OD to fuzz. Which is why I tend not to use my pedals for my main sound.
I've been tempted to set my 700RB slightly dirty lately, just to use that slight OD as my "clean" sound, but I also use my MB200 (which can't do GK grind) as a practice/backup, so I have to use my Rails pedal as my "clean" instead. Still, I'm really starting to think that OD is where it's at. The B3K is my go-to, as it sounds good in nearly every application, but I feel I can definitely use a little hairier OD for slower stuff. When this is all said and done (God knows when that will be!), I'll hopefully have a much more manageable pedal board. Then, I'll do the same with my guitar board. Though I find I DO like heavy distortion/fuzz on guitar, for whatever reason.
What I'm truly surprised by is how different the "tube-like" pedals I have are to an actual tube pedal. It's not a huge difference per se, but I can definitely hear some of the slight harshness that the SS pedals have versus the real tubes. I'm shocked. I was never a tube guy, but I gotta say, I'm digging this tube pedal. Just wish it was a standard 9v instead of a separate plug.
Yeah... that much for a fuzz pedal? No reason not to just wait until Dunwich is accepting new orders for custom work.
