Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Just got a text response to a "bassist available" flyer i hung up at the local metal record store over a year ago. Better late than never i guess.

Her biggest issue is jumping on or snapping at random people when we walk in public. Been walking her around the university so I have access to crowds of students she can molest as I try to train her not to lol.
A friend of mine had a collie/heeler mix that would herd people. We'd be at a barbeque in their back yard and would suddenly notice that everyone at the party was standing in a very tight circle, with the dog circling around us, nipping at heels if we tried to leave the group.
My dog did just fine for my band practice last night. She whimpered at first, but nothing noise-related. I tested her with my buddy playing guitar at volume, and she was good, then me and another friend played as my friend kept an ear out for extra whimpering/other tell tale signs she's not just wanting constant attention. She just wanted some attention, like when we put her down for the night and go to bed. She was actually in my band room earlier that evening with me as I practiced (quietly)! It was a major milestone for her. I was a proud puppy papa.
I've heard of dogs doing this, but never actually seen one completely succeed. Bravo to that dog!

Anyways yea she doesn't herd at least on a leash it seems. We'll walk past like a number of people then she singles one out to leap all over and do all kinds of weirdness, then soon as they pass back to calm. Few more people pass, then bam!
Oh and she stalked, got low and sprang up and head butted a sheriff in the balls. #doglivesmatter.

I was just amazed that it happened without anyone noticing until we were all herded together. Oh poopie... we're sheep.
My dogs are always relatively insubordinate. All very very intelligent. I like to think they are smart enough that they know what's going on and just don't give a hoot. Stella is my first terrier, and that terrier attitude is present. She will not listen if a toy or other dog is involved. She'll listen for treats though.
****ed day at the bakery. Worked 13 hours yesterday to go home and sit for 20 minutes, shower and return for 2.5 hours of management meetings. All on 1.5 hours sleep. Starting to get sick from lack of sleep/too much work. The rashes on my arms from working with rice flour are out of control. I live in a special hell all day after work every time I have to work with it. I have another manager working with me that has been taking care of baguettes so that I don't have to touch the stuff, but he was pulled to another shift for the week to cover vacation days.
Anyway, our 450lb mixer is broken and has been removed. It's the only mixer with a bowl lift. Shift before me is way behind so that puts us way behind. We have to alternate mixes on two smaller mixers, one of which takes 30minutes to do what the others can do in 12-15. We have a crap load to do tonight and we have to start making pan breads for a new customer. New accounts = massive orders.

Any of you froods have much experience buying used gear from GC? More specifically an item that located at a GC out of state that you wnat to get?
Only bought something out of town (still shipped). My advice to you to save yourself any heartache or hiccups is call the store in question and make sure they have the item in question and ask a few questions to insure it is indeed said item. I called a couple times and stuff was sold or not at all what they had posted. Bought a bass vi used, but a guy contacted me via craigslist to say he was gonna return his to craigslist in fort hood, and he'd call as he handed it over. So I literally called the front desk as he passed it over and I immediately paid for it.
Lots of things happening man, werkin lots, GH shows, got one coming up on monday thats going to be a monday night riffball show with sets before, during half time and after (our set) the Packer game. Thatll be a fun time.
Traded my Old Blood Noose Procession for the dankest verb ive ever heard, a Lone Wolf Audio Backhand. Sounds beastly before fuzz. Infinite amounts of verb into self warbly oscillation. And boostable volume. I never thought Id own one for the fact Id never buy one new because im not a big fan of the builders overall attitude, but uber stoked this trade worked out.
And finally PVY(Post VEGA) is finally gaining some momentum, jammed for the first time in a couple weeks. Got a structure for our first song made. Found a good mix of tones and volumes, everyone is running one head and one cab, HUUUZAH!!! Im running my Bass 300 into my folded 18, ric into quite a spacey sounding pedal board. BF2 > WUMBO Muff> Ghost Echo > TR2. Lots of fun sounds in there.

Well, it was the biggest place we've played, opening for Inaeona, who, you know, just toured with Cult of Luna. The other two bands are two of the best bands in the local scene (Ion and Name).
Something happened with the promoter. I think something must have come up for him, because usually when we've had promoters book shows, they've done lots of promo (and supplied the high-res version of the flier for the bands to then go make a million copies of and stick up all over town). That didn't happen, this time, it seemed.
Those who were there got an excellent show, though.
Also the DNA Lounge treated us quite well. Paid us (not a big amount, but mainly noteworthy in that they said they would before the show happened, and then they did), provided lots of bottles of beer, water, etc. backstage, and fed us (two large pieces of pizza per band member). Soundguy did a good job, too. All the bands sounded huge.
