Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Sold a bunch of stuff on craigslist recently. Does this drive anyone else nuts? "What's your lowest price?"

I'm not sure what it is but I'm sure some of you will appreciate it.

Drives me batty, because no one answers that I imagine unless they are hurting for cash and probably specified so in the ad.

I try to be nice as possible, as I often repeatedly sell and buy from the same people. Can't be acting like a dick right out the gate. But Craigslist is the middle ground between a flea market and garage sale with added anonymity so it's not surprising people act as they do.

@askrere

The most recent one flipped when I just responded with the price I had posted. I put my phone away until about 10 minutes ago, he had responded multiple times or several hours sending me screenshots of ebay auctions and cussing at me.
I'm not sure that he understands that the auctions are not finished yet or if he is trying to pull a fast one.

If you're selling a beat up affinity and the first question out the gate is how low? That's fair, but a rude way to ask.

If you're selling something of value and they ask that first just like that, I can't imagine they intend to play it much if at all. Probably has a resell shop and he wants it. And like @eyeballkid said, first to talk numbers loses.

That guy just sounds dumb, and like the numbers rule, first one to curse at the other loses too lol,

I see it as you can ask or haggle or try and trade always. But you might as well do it tactfully, because they might buy something from you next time. Or you know give you a better deal, and laugh with you about all the ******** who make crazy demands.

Pshhhh!!!!! OW!!!!

All day long the nefarious/litigious side of me kept thinking how awesome it would be if a fellow employee did that to me.

That's a damn good deal, but if you think you are gonna get a decent acoustic guitar sound from a semi-hollow...what I'm trying to say is, it won't happen. 335-ish guitars sound quite a bit more (to my ears and IME) like an unplugged solidbody electric than they do an acoustic.

Didn't think so, and it goes against my desperate attempts to lessen the gear I keep. Buuuuuut it's pretty and from what I've found it mostly likely has the same neck as my ibby SG which is amazing so gotta see.

Just spent the evening helping a new co-worker move. Guy moved his family out here from Oregon to work at my place of employment, figure the least I could do was give him a hand with the furniture. It's hard moving halfway across the country to a city where you don't know anyone.

As a result I'm sitting in class stinking up the joint. I think it's time to go home.

Wow. Bringing up bad memory of trying to sell the black RB650 earlier this year. Once I would not go down on the price I kept getting bombarded with tirades about how much I paid for it. Stopped responding and blocked the number, yeah I gave them my cell number to ask questions.
During the haggling it was like a new person every 15 min would try to work me down. Still have the bass. May try again soon.
Bummer was I should have double checked the profile that sent me the IM here. They had never posted other than to harass me. Admins were notified.

I thought that was pretty fairly priced.
