Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I guess my post made it seem like I didn't enjoy it, I did. I just thought it was a bit lacking at the same time I guess.
I have bad pedal gas for two boxes, Dunwich ODB and an abominable electronics Demon Lung. I am actually not using any muffs at the moment though I'd like to flip my Iron Fist and Hail Satan for a Hail Satan deluxe.
According to my parents I was actually conceived to an episode of Star Trek. And the original airing, younglings, none of this rerun business.
So maybe it's in my chromosomes, but I've always loved it.
My take on the reboot flicks are that they go a little far with the campy humor, and I didn't like the second one as much, but they are fun.
Of course, the Nero the Romulan and Spock time disruption stuff alters the universe so now the canonical Trek timeline and history are not the same. They've been rewritten, so in essence they can take it anywhere. Karl Urban as Bones is, IMO, inspired casting in particular. Just saying as a lifelong fan, I don't hate what they did with them.
Also, fan--not fanatic. I never watched DS9 or Voyager...don't collect Trek memorabilia, etc.
Wish us luck--my wife has a job interview today, curating the museum of the town where I work. We'd both be city employees so we could commute together, insurance would be cheaper, go to the same meetings, plus I think she'd be happier being more occupied at a cool job, and I can't express how much the extra income would mean to us.
Whatever happens, feels like it's gonna be a good day.

That's so confounding to me. I love movies so much. Yes, probably a larger percentage of them that aren't worth my time, and I don't get jazzed about most new stuff, but while I'm an admitted music snob, for some reason I can usually suspend my disgust and give myself over to enjoy even stupid, inane flicks. Can't imagine life without em.
In some ways I consider film the greatest art form because it encompasses so many others...writing, photography, music, choreography, animation. It also is the only art form that IMO hasn't been totally played out. There's still room for innovation and new directions in film.
So that young CEO that bought the production rights to that pill for immune compromised people (AIDS, cancer patients etc) then raised the price over 1000%. He's the guy who bought that exclusive Wu-Tang album...

So only once I had mate it was tea bag form. Can't remember though anything about it. Is it typically drank with more leaves than a tea bag hold or Does the mound mean you put a lot in it?
Seems like a personal scoop of mate is the equivalent of a scoop of coffee for a pot.
You can make it however you want. A tea infuser, a french press. The most important thing is to seat the flavor of the mate with some cool water first and let it soak in the leaves. Otherwise the leaves release to fast and become very bitter.
Traditional method is to use a mate(gourd) and bombilla(straw/filter)and reuse the mate all day long. You just keep adding hot but not boiling water to it throughout the day.

In Malaysia they have a lot of Chinese people. They had a Chinese medicine tea place. The more bitter the healthier it is. They had this massive bronze cauldron, it was full of this always brewing tea.
Uncle made me try some. Came out like congealed motor oil and bitter as a black hole. Just sucked you in and destroyed your tongue. (Not good bitter)

Uhm all mate is sort of bitter, so maybe that wasn't the best way to describe the cold water treatment, let's say if you don't seat the leaves with cold water then they taste poopie.

Although i don't read enough of them (time and money are my excuse) graphic novels/comics are my favorite form of story telling.
They can do absolutely anything and budget is not really a concern.
Well, it cold have bee really really good had they cut all the smarmy crap out of it.
