Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

The guy with the 2000s cab emailed me back reoffering $450. Apparently some CL no shows and lowball offers was all it took for him to fold on $600. I want to get more pics from him and hopefully explain in a delicate manner that $450 is still about $50-75 to high for that cab. Im hoping to enlighten him and use my driving distance to get him down to $400, if fortune favors me. I'm curious though what the offers he described as "ridiculous" were.

Is it bad form to ask what the offers were?

I wouldn't ask but if he came back at $450 then you know he was offered lower than that.

I posted about this awhile back but I finally finished my rack case for the mostly harmless. It's not perfect but I'm fairly happy with it.

Still on the amp search, but a couple of options, including betting on a Mk IV. Anyone got experience with Hartke HA3500s?

Hartke is like peavey very solid stuff. I'll say the tube is kind of a joke, I opened mine, and it barely gets any power, much less than what's required to "drive" it. It's a different flavor than the SS pre side, but not like grind or anything.

Had the 2500, wasn't loud enough for doom purposes. They're clean, flexible with the graphic eq, take pedals well, about as exciting as dry toast but they'll get the job done. Even though the 3500 is 100 more watts I'd worry about headroom. I was using mine with my two behringer 1x15s, might have better luck with 6x10 or 8x10.

I think it should be ok, not a lot of big venues in Canberra. Also not a lot of good second hand pickings here. I'd rathee Peavey, Ashdown or Ampeg, but this is a good deal I think

I think it's a good choice, if you use pedals for dirt you'll be all set. Less bulky and heavy than an old peavey too. Hartke customer service is as good as it gets though I doubt that you'll need it, very reliable products.

I've had an LH1000 for a few years and it's served me well. I was going to sell it when I got the SVT but couldn't bear to let it go.

Thus starts the Lake Michigan Circle Tour roadtrip! We wanted to find snow up north but it started snowing before we even left. Drove out of the storm going up to Door County for lunch, and then back into it going around Green Bay. Staying in the Island Casino and Resort just outside of Escanaba, MI. Saw an Ellen themed one arm bandit, and had to play it cause Ellen is my main bvtch now for day time tv while searching for jobs... started with $5, 2 spins later I won $268!!! Played some video black jack cause Im to afraid of real life black jack, and gave em a buck and took a buck, gave em 2 bucks and took 2 bucks, that went nowhere so I took my $260 and called it quits. Now enjoying some victory Kava in celebration.
