Kind of a poopy recommendation, but if you can find one of these:

I bought one from Squanch and it's the best, most tweakable phaser that I've used. No low end loss if you keep the range set right and the Level knob can be set to dial in a substantial boost when you kick on the effect. Loud, present, cutting, thick, undulating phase. We're all tuned to B standard as well.

I really want to try one of those new DOD 201 Phasor reissues. It seems to be a subtle sweep but it sounds so good in the videos I watched. I love my Nano Small Stone but I would love to try and Empress some day.

Man that dude I bought the Nobels from in beautiful Scranton PA was a trip. On this crazy street at an old electronics shop. He had a super heavy Scranton accent and was getting a little pissed at me because I couldn't find his shop in Smurf Village, fun times lol. I really could of used some kava that day.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I have a Green Russian Small Stone that I could try, but it's huge, it's not true bypass and bleeds into the bypass signal a bit, as well as having a noticeable volume drop when engaged. Yeah, I could remedy all that, but it's somewhat collectible, so didn't want to mod it if I can help it.

Will definitely check some vids of the mentioned pedals. Thanks!

Catalinbread has a pretty interesting/different flanger pedal, I think it's called the Zero Point. It just has a bypass switch and a momentary switch for making the flange take off. It's meant to emulate the original dual reel-to-reel flanging sound.

I feel you, that's why I'm kind of glad I'm actually working this week. I took my last week of vacation for the year at the beginning of the month and I was more physically and emotionally stressed when I went back to work than I left. I wanted to start working on writing music for a solo project this month and I haven't had more than 10 minutes along with an instrument.

I decided to pass on the 2000s cab. It had a total of 6 screws holding the back panel on and the "small strip of missing tolex on the back was closer to 25% of the tolex on the back. It was also missing the proper cable jack. These things could be fixed, but I don't want to pay $450 and drive to and from Chicago for it. Bummer but c'est la vie.

In lieu of passing on a vintage cab, I'll be using my Christmas funds to buy something I actually need, a new power amp.

I know I've asked this before, but I haven't really gotten as many responses as I'd like so I'll try again. Crest left me with a bit of a salty taste but I'm not opposed to giving them another try. I'm lookin at buying new in hopes that the extra upfront cost will be worth the warranty if another amp bites the dust. I can't afford to lose another one.

I'm looking for something that is at least 700w per channel @ 4ohms. I'm not to concerned about the weight, but lighter is better I guess? My biggest wishes are a high volume and reliability. It would be cool to stay under $500 but I could probably stretch that a bit further, especially if it can be had from GC. Discounts plus a gift card can make a GC acquisition very desirable.

Other than that, I am eye balling Carvin primarily for their rep with customer service and repair. It does raise a flag though to be more focused on how a manufacturer handles issues rather than assuming the product will be reliable.

I have no upcoming shows on the docket, but this is something I need to make a gear priority.

I'd consider buying used from any of you all if you have something to sell. I trust you dudes enough to not sell me a lemon.

Recently switched my guitar to flats. LOVING it! Any of you guys prefer flats on both guitar and bass? I always hear people say you lose definition with flats, but all I seem to have lost is fret buzz and annoying, piercing treble. Thought maybe guitar needed that treble, but I just EQ'd a bit of treble back in on a pedal or two, and we're golden. I've gained a beefier sound, better string tension, and the sound in my head. Don't think I'll ever go back to rounds on guitar or bass.

I appreciate all the sentiment y'all. This past year has been a big downer for me and i keep vomiting it amidst this thread.

So far I have had good luck, with my carvin dcm3800l. I know @Ron Now from bongripper has been using the 3000 for awhile, maybe he will have a long reliability review.
