Tryout with the drummer went well today. He learned the songs I sent him, had plenty to say about a lot of bands I like and are influences, likes big kick drums and a nice guy to boot.

Oh no no both can exist in one home! Though I wouldn't pay much, that things just laughably deformed. Might do like you were contemplating and buying a guitar he'd like (within my whim budget).
I need to fix the neck pickup, it's got a broken tiny copper lead wire.
Got a lot of fixes and gear to move, and extra stuff I've received from trades. Then use that excess for attempting to flip to rent or bills monthly.

I felt that the new Dimension bass was a nice change from plain old jazz and precision.
Because G&L doesnt have any fender clones?
On a side note, look at how many companies Leo has influenced.
Fender isn't going to deviate much from their norm. Many people believe a brand's strength lies in its tradition. The area right around P&J is very crowded it's nearly all been done. Unless they go off the deep end I expect they'd have to be similar to something else.
I like the dimensions. They look rad. The Jag basses are cool too. For me, it's that *Fender shapes* are so common. I like the different body shapes.

I always just intended on get a jazz body made through warmoth, nothing against fender I just like to choose all of my options. Although i wanted Indian rosewood body the price that wood has like double in a year, last year my body was price at 320 I believe, this year the guy said 720!?
A BC Rich Eagle or Gibson Victory or something like that. There's a ton more that have cool aesthetics too. I do not really go for wacky. Some of the pointy or headless (though I did play a headless for a couple shows in an old punk band), I don't dig that stuff. I like a lot of hollow body styles too. But I've heard different things about them having too much feedback once you run loud amps and fuzz. People like different things. Some, don't like the Carvin shape I have. I think it's like the next generation of Jazz bass. Me encanta.
I just looked at their store (maybe mobile doesn't display all options?) and it looks like they don't offer Gibson style bass bodies anymore. I <3 Fenderbirds. I'd probably go for the Z Bass body with a 2x2 headstock similar to an SG shape.
Pointy and wacky does disappoint'e as well.
Hollow bodies it's a matter of I like the looks, but unless there's a piezo pickup and true hollow body it's just a big feedbacking guitar/bass. My friends epi casino was a lovely sounding guitar, but no acoustic overtone and when he bought his musket and started using it over his ts9, he bought a Jazzmaster and then an SG to cope.
I think squier and fender have come up with some cool new or rein visioned things in the last few years. The tele basses, jags etc.
Fenders are awesome because of time tested goodness and the amazing interchangeability. My only disappointment is their use of square and round heel necks... That seems like something they should have universalized long ago.

NPD. I really dig my Hardwire delay and reverb and got a great deal on these guys so figured I would give the chorus and phaser a try. I dig them. Real versatile and I don't mind digital for modulation.
Normally I wouldn't spend $40 on an album, but intead of selling some records that I really don't listen to I saw this at the store and traded for it. Double LP, 180 gram. Totally worth it.
