I believe that's how much it weighs - they're heavier and more robust than regular LPs.
Normally I wouldn't spend $40 on an album, but intead of selling some records that I really don't listen to I saw this at the store and traded for it. Double LP, 180 gram. Totally worth it.
Good form. I've been eyeing this record too. Might consider splurging on it at my local during the week.
The weight of the physical record. They usually end up being a lot thicker too. In turn, this supposedly produces a better sound quality and the records tend to be more durable than the lighter ones. Personally, I think that's all subjective but I will admit that 180 gram records feel a lot nicer. Generally a lot more expensive too.

180g means there is more wax on the record. Richer sound, less surface noise but if the mastering sucks then it won't make huge difference. Most albums today are 140g. In the 70s they got really bad. Down to 120 and even less as record companies tried to cut costs. You'll find a lot of those records in the bargain bin at your local record store.
I learned a really good tip for cleaning vinyl a while back. All you do is cover the record with wood glue, making sure to fill the grooves, and let it dry. The glue doesn't adhere to vinyl so once it dries you just peel it off, taking all the dust and dirt with it.

Yup, just gotta be careful about leaving behind any traces of the PVA glue on the actual record. Window cleaner with a silk cloth also works really well I found.

If you get fine cactus needles in your skin glue dried to you will pull them out once dried and peeled up.
My GAS makes it virtually impossible for me to choose a new amp. Last week I was considering creating a pre+power amp rig. This week I'm really GAS'ing a vintage chunky SS Peavey head.

Good thing about old SS Peavey is that you should be able to find one for less $200, sometimes less than $100. So you still have money for the preamp of your fancy to plug into the power amp in on the Peavey.
Here in Australia you probably won't find them for less than $400, which is still pretty reasonable. The main issue is finding the damn things in the first place and locally too. I've found a couple but the sellers are reluctant to ship due to their weight. Even offered to organise a courier service but they can't be arsed packing it up and just want people to pick it up from their dingy garages. Absolute dropkicks.

Ooooo forgot to look where you lived...that sucks man, a man should be able to buy a peavey with enough left over for a bag of green, buy a bag of green, then riff...its my god given, american right or this countys president isn't named Uncle Sam. Awesome gig tonight! It was short but mighty, somewhere between 20-25 min. Good crowd and good reaction. We worked up cover of Godzilla to throw in there and it went over pretty well. It was kinda in the Fu Manchu style. I was roasting under the lights, though. Had to go shirtless and feel a bit like I was in a hardcore punk band.
