Do you right the songs for your band on guitar and switch to bass?.

Sometimes, yes. So far I actually play guitar on one track. We all write whatever we like and go with it. I write on both guitar and bass, and we just make it work. I like having guitar and bass rigs because sometimes I have a guitar riff in my head, other times it's a bass riff. Whatever works!

Minor gripe with Pharaoh Supreme - the knobs are nigh unreadable. Need to replace mine with knobs that have some sort of readability while I'm standing. I like the metal look, though!

I saw a premier guitar article a few months back where someone wrote in wanting to permanently mod their Fender Studio Bass down to 50W or something. So the tech/writer guy responded with a long involved process to irreversibly modify the amp. JUST BY A ****ING BASSMAN AND SELL THE STUDIO TO SOMEONE THAT WANTS A 200W AMP. Sheesh.

A couple years ago some guy was trying to sell a Model T on ebay. He was bragging about how it had been completely modded to Marshall Plexi specs. In the pictures it only had two output tubes instead of four, and a bunch of other poopie had been done to it. Dude wanted $2500 for it. All I could think was "why would you mod a Model T instead of just getting a shaging Plexi?"

Anybody know a way to see if people have you on their ignore list?
Just ranted about 12 posts worth at one particular dude who recommended replacing an 8x10 with a 2x12 and telling the guitars to turn down. Think I pissed him off.

I get really tired of the advice "turn down or I'm going home." Sounds like these people really don't want to play.

Who wouldn't want a 200 watt bassman? That is like the holy grail for pedal pushers.

Not everyone is a pedal pusher.

I'm wanting clean power. So probably not GK I'm kind of tired of them anyway, at least the RB series. Aguilar would be great but I'm not looking to spend that kind of money.
Maybe 500-800 used is a price range. 500 watts. My back up Peavey MKIII isn't cutting it.
I haven't paid much attention to amps in 5 years.

For that cash, I'd just try everything at guitar center, abuse the return policy then settle on something and buy it used

Yeah getting it working is the main part, modding besides the booster out comes after that.

I wonder if the overdrive outs would work for that. If they're just outputs meant to cascade one preamp into the other it might work just fine to take a preamp out feed from there. Not sure but it seems logical.

Hartke LH1000, cheap, simple, reliable, flexible and LOUD if you want it to be. It can also run 2x2 ohm loads if you like running tons of cabs. Only drawback to some is the fender tone stack but I think it's fine, really nice with pedals.

My biggest beef is that I find it horribly uncomfortable to rest my hand on while playing with pick. And I think they look clunky and less than pretty.

Ah, okay. I don't really rest my hand there, so I wasn't sure.

Actually been thinking about putting a pickup cover on for a handrest. Of course, then I'd have to convert all the hardware to chrome...

Hard to intonate properly, hard to get low action, no height adjustment on individual strings, General PITA to work with.

I didn't hate the three-point bridge, but I replaced both of them on my Epi T-bird and Flying V and I prefer the Hipshot Supertone. Easier to load-in new strings, IMO. It's an upgrade but not a significant one.

I'm using drop Bb tuning in my jag with the tentative group. So 4 strings... Anyone else play drop tunings?

I've been using dadgad on guitar at home, and it's kinda drop and the chording style makes sense. On bass it seems somewhat redundant? Any tips or things you drop tuning users do?
