Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

@Turkeypills Sweet baby Cheeses, that thing weighs 200 pounds?!?!??!

I do sometimes miss my B15, but my EBS fills that role so nicely.

Yeah... Its large. I've only used it with my old Eden WT550. I bet it would sound killer with a proper tube head. Thats one of the only cabs I didn't test yesterday because I have previously used it and neither of us felt like moving it.

Thoughts from the brain trust on this?

Must have taken quite a hit for a glue lam neck to crack like that. Tasty otherwise.

Does anybody know much about these things?

Scale length? Is that bridge any good?
No personal experience but it looks 34". Bridge is prolly just as crappy as the tuners look to be. Neat unit but not $475 neat with battle scars included.

Argh, doing those mods to the ODB-3 and Pork Loin. Success with the ODB-3 as in I didn't f it up. And that one mod does really dial out all the shrill highs and noise. Though now I wonder if I miss that part of the pedal. If I get it back in the chain and miss it I can swap it back though. I get the cap pulled out of the Pork Loin and not sure what I was thinking when I bought the replacement cap from Radio Shack. It is huge and no way that will fit in there. I guess I will have to order the right one from a pedal and guitar electronics store. Sucks. On to some input jack and string swap on the Water stone. Something cathartic about guitar maintenance. Wish I was a better solderer though. Man that is an art.

If you can mod, you can build. Mammoth electronics has a few PCBs, you should order one, a case and components and make it worth the shipping.

My first couple pedals were a solder mess. My last few have been incredibly clean. Wiring is where I struggle. Some builders make that look like a masterpiece.

Bazz Fuss fun

I'd suggest this as its so easy, Micah could probably even help. And it fits a tiny malekko style box.

What values did you change? I like my ODB-3 enough that I am strongly considering recasing it into a larger box. It would be cool to do a little R&D to squeeze a mid knob in. That may be a bit beyond my understanding though.

I just swapped C10 to 1uf. I used to have a Boss ODB-3 that someone did all the Wampler tone mods but none of the clipping mods and it sounded stellar. I may do the other two tone mods. Here is a link because I had s bitch of a time finding C10, you may have to google translate the page. What watt gun do you use, it took forever to melt the solder but I was using a super fine tip?

Think the Pelham Blue T-Bird guy isn't going to nudge much on the price, but there's a sweet 77 Greco single pickup I want to have a look at.

Also, saw Iron Maiden on Friday. They put on a seriously good show. Amazing production, and I wish I could perform with the energy those guys do now, let alone at their age. I am more of a Sabbath fan, but I gotta say Maiden wiped the floor with them live this time.
