Anybody know what the guitarist for Grand Magus uses distortion wise? Or how to get there myself? I'm using an old Peavey Transtube Supreme and a 7 string Ibanez LP style guitar.
I have a Quantum Mystic, Fat Sandwich, Sabbra Cadabra, Swollen Pickle, and currently use my FatMetal for doomy guitar tones. I seem to prefer heavy distortion for doom, not that plenty of bands don't pull off fuzz in doom quite well. Not a big fan of fuzz for my personal doom tones, and I don't think he uses any fuzz anyway.
I'd also be fine with a Candlemass guitar tone. If any of these can get me close, or something relatively affordable can get me either tone, I'd love to hear it.
In other news, work sucks. Ready for the holiday break. Gonna listen to my "X-Mas" songs, which are traditional songs with Chthulhu-themed lyrics. Good times, and most people don't even notice.
