A personal favorite of mine, used more for guitar than bass though, is the EQD Acapulco Gold. The thing rips, and easy to dial in, sounds good wherever you set it!! hahahaha another one that is similar is the EQD Bellows fuzz driver.
One that I've wanted to check out that sounds awesome in demos is the Way Huge Russian Pickle. Sounds so thick and wooly.
Quick rig shot...will be recording on Monday through this and I can't wait. Will be my first recording with the Darkglass head. I freaking love that thing

Been a minute since I posted a rig shot... Been a minute since I have had the big rig out. Apartment living in the worst for a bassist.

Nice! And I hear you...we live in a condo so most of my practice time is through headphones.
What kind of bass is that?
Dingwall Afterburner I. I love that bass, so much mojo.
I've never plugged the Acapulco Gold into my bass rig, but it's great on the six string fo sho!
Cool, very nice basses. From what I've read, Dingwall does the bass fanned frets really well. Is it true that you need special strings with very specific length and tension?
I like the idea of a fanned fret, there's a Dingwall that's just appeared in the used section of my local Guitar Center and I sort of want to go down and try it out, except I can't afford it if I like it.

NBD. Used Godin Shifter from MGR but looks brand spanking new. Unfortunately the setup is all wacked. It buzzes like an angry hornet nest. Some joker obviously tried to hide that by cranking the saddles all the way up.
I loosened to truss rod a bit to add some relief but it's still buzzy. It's going to take some time I guess. The one thing I don't have.

What's that acrylic? I always loved that body shape.Neat cab....I run 2 Schroeder 1x15's with Neo drivers and really dig them. Jorg Schroeder is a solid dude too if you should ever need his help.
Is it rig shot sharing day?

How does the amp distortion for the darkglass sound for doom/stoner? Almost all the demos I hear are more in the crunchy/od Motorhead-esque level not the crushing level we are all playing at for this genre. Right now I'm running a Fender 1200 and it sounds great but it weighs a metric ton and even though I'm a huge person I'm tired of carrying it so was looking at an MB800, Darkglass, or possibly the mesa subway d-800. I've been using an EHX Bass Big Muff Deluxe lately for distortion and I do like it but I'd like more a tubey grind without actually dealing with tubes you know.Quick rig shot...will be recording on Monday through this and I can't wait.
