I posted this over in the amps forum but it did not receive any love. I can't quit looking at this amp...
Kinda curious about these too, but they're pricey..... I'm pretty happy with my old Sunn Beta Bass head, which still can be found for cheap if you're patient. With two 15's it's frickin' loud for 100 watts.
Yeah, I am really interested in them. I wonder how the class D power section would compare to the original?
I've heard em at a couple shows, but never used one myself. Sound sweet though.
I had a different 700w class D amp and a beta at the same time. Class D will be louder but I think you'd be better off with the preamp and a class AB power amp to be honest. The Hilbish uses the same power module as the Verellen and most other new micros. I don't trust them.
Anyone run a two amp clean/dirty rig? I'm thinking about adding a second amp/cab and I figure this thread is the least likely to tell me it'll be too big, heavy or loud.

not too loud but just not worth the effort for a 30-40 min set where nobody will hear the difference anyway
I'd do it for a large gig, but the only way I'd do it reliably would be with two 1x12's and class D heads...at that point you could stack em and they wouldn't be too bad to haul. In the end though, I'm not sure how much I'd even notice it within the mix and in the zone while playing.
I'd say if you can jury rig a setup in your jam space to see if you'll notice the difference, that would be the best first step. Don't wanna dump money on something you may not like.

In other news I think we found a new guitarist. We are two practices in and making great progress. Im finally feeling excited about our music again.
I will concede that I do use two amps Everytime I gig though haha...but one's a 15w Vox. I'm all for more amps and bi-amping, etc. But since we already help move a bunch of stuff to and from shows, I would wanna limit the big poopie.
The biggest thing about having a clean amp and a dirty amp is how you can get a variety of sounds. I wouldn't be surprised if you could do that with a blend pedal though. And nothing beats a tube amp cranked. Oh man the fullness, sag, and expression you get!
