My thoughts exactly. @TSmith92 looks like Tbird, but I could easily be mistaken. Love the sound though, that growl!
That is a very nice growl on that badboy. Are those Lace pickups? Says Thunderbucker on the site not sure who makes those?

Anyone dooming with a G&L? El Toro, L-2000, SB-2? There's a very rare El Toro quite close to my town, enough I could give it a shot and drive over....

Overpriced so I almost wish I won't like it. But.....
I just replaced the pickup in a P-bass with an G&L MFD split P, and for $80 USD it's the best bang for the buck. Way cheaper, essentially the G&L bass will be Fender-ish anyway.

In other news, my current band has gone from being on dialysis to straight up coma/life-support. Singer and now the drummer are gone. Seems like with every band that has serious potential, some kinda stupid horsesheeet comes up and it tanks. Fuuuuugggggg. /rant
One of the best basses I've ever played was a 1985 G&L L1000. Had I the money at the time, I would have bought it right then and there. I've seen a few G&Ls on stage at doom shows. Definitely a good choice, I would say.

Question - Im thinking of keeping the top 4 strings of a 5 string set, I want to take my thickest string witch is currently 120 gauge and replacing it with 135 gauge once the nut has been cut to spec. I am tuned to C, anyone know what I can expect?, dead or inactive top string?, too much or not enough movement?.
Only happened to me twice, but both times it's been in the bands that that had serious potential. I feel your pain, the last one was with two of my closest friends and we still wanna do it, but all of us have life obligations that significantly reduce are availability.
@ProgressiveDoom not sure, but based on physics, the tension on your neck should change (increase) so you may need to adjust the truss rod.

135 for C? Huh.
I use 130 for B. You may have to adjust your truss rod and intonation.

No kidding and @Sartori was right that I had to tweak my truss rod just a bit but wow those are thick strings, Its like I got 4 guage's of tow rope running along my fret board, way serious boom factor happening now.
I finally upgraded my backup bass with had Nordstrand Big Singles with the EMG active 3 band put in my MTD Z4 last spring I can't justify more high end stuff financially right now but I gotta say they really, really sound nice in the Dunable clips. I think next spring I'm going to get a bridge one of these in my poopy/awesome Hamer P bass that has sentimental value it will go with the Curtis Novak split/P and neck mudbucker nicely. Might be fun to throw a 5 way switch in there and make it weird. I probably have too much gear right now that I don't use regularly enough, but that would probably make that bass sound good enough to start playing again and I really like it even though it's not on the same level as my other stuff.
And .130-.125 is perfect for C tuning!
Yeah anytime you change tension that much you're gonna wanna check your neck. Give your intonation a check too.
